Hey :) On Sun, Sep 8, 2013 at 7:39 PM, Luca Martinelli martinellil...@gmail.com wrote: 2013/9/8 Lydia Pintscher lydia.pintsc...@wikimedia.de: No it'd only link to one of the Commons ones but we're not restricting if this is category or page. (There is likely an item for the page and one for the category about Albert Einstein on Wikipedia) IMHO, it should be like Yaroslav pointed out (page to page, category to category, but *absolutely not* page to category or viceversa). Anyway, let's discuss it on Wikidata: https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Wikidata:Wikimedia_Commons (should we archive this page and make a new one?) In the end this is a decision of the Commons community what they want to link their pages and categories to and should probably be discussed there. As I said it'll be possible one way or another. [Wikidata-l] Wiktionary first phase : interwiki links?
Hi all, About Wiktionary and Wikidata, Hartz proposed at https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Wikidata_talk:Wiktionary#First_and_second_phases to be pragmatic and just import the interwiki links. I agree. I suggested in the same page that we could have items for Wiktionary where sitelinks would use the label of the item for the sitelink-titles. Is this feasible? I'm not highly knowledgeable about Wikidata, but I suppose this kind of modification shouldn't be too difficult. What do you think? Please come discuss this matter in the link above. [Wikidata-l] Properties in Wikidata for Numbers Datatypes
Hello All , i'm working on adding some properties mappings between DBpedia and Wikidata properties [1] when i started to add mappings for DBpedia properties whose datatypes are numbers in the xsd format and some other DBpedia properties that their values are in numbers also but their datatypes in are standard units like : - xsd:Integer - xsd:Float - xsd:Boolean - http://dbpedia.org/datatype/kilogram - http://dbpedia.org/datatype/squareMetre - http://dbpedia.org/datatype/metre i noticed that Wikidata doesn't contain equivalent properties for such DBpedia properties. this includes all properties like : Height , area , weight , mass and population number my Question is, are those properties missing just because no one considered adding them or they don't exist intentionally because Wikidata doesn't have Datatypes for numbers yet ? so for example we are going to see claims in the future on this form ? m:[ value, 222, Integer, 165 ], thanks Regards 1- https://github.com/hadyelsahar/extraction-framework/wiki/Mapping-WikData-to-DBpedia-properties - Hady El-Sahar Research Assistant Center of Informatics Sciences | Nile Universityhttp://nileuniversity.edu.eg/ ___ Wikidata-l mailing list Wikidata-l@lists.wikimedia.org https://lists.wikimedia.org/mailman/listinfo/wikidata-l

Though I'm sure it wasn't your intention to sound so rude, I invite you to take a look at the current proposal.[1] If you need an Italian explanation (with some of my thoughts), you're welcome.[2] [1] https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Wikidata:Wiktionary [2] http://sannita.wordpress.com/2013/09/09/integrazione-wikizionario-wikidata/ -- Luca Sannita Martinelli http://it.wikipedia.org/wiki/Utente:Sannita ___ Wikidata-l mailing list Wikidata-l@lists.wikimedia.org https://lists.wikimedia.org/mailman/listinfo/wikidata-l
