Re: [Wikidata-l] Tools for Wikidata users

2015-01-16 Thread Paul Houle
I like this stuff and I'd like to imagine what the cycle of improving these
looks like.

I played around with the admin interface a little, but it wasn't clear how
I could add a property that is defined in Wikidata, such as the
electronegativity or the oxidization states. There is also the issue that
other properties that I don't see populated for Wikidata here such as
boiling point, melting point, etc.

Right now I think the 3d display modes are flashy but don't deliver real
value. With more data, however, you could do some interesting things.

Also I am curious about the data model, it looks like a "property" here is
something like a relational table row, is it?

[Wikidata-l] Tools for Wikidata users

2015-01-16 Thread Sridhar Ramachandran

Hi all,

I am working on cloud computing platform (http://conceptjs.com) that
lets folks build applications the Wiki way, where you can read and edit
the code behind any page with a browser. We want democratize
web-application development the way Wikidata is democratizing data.

We have some example apps like the Mammal Explorer
, World Fact Book and
Periodic Table which integrate with various
open-data sources including Wikidata. We want to build more such apps
with real user requirements.

If anyone in this group is looking for tools that will help you
validate, summarize or update information in Wikidata, we are happy to
collaborate with you to build them. All our work will be CC0 licensed
and hosted for free. Please let me know at srid...@lambdazen.com.

Regards,

Sridhar.
