Excellent. For quite some time, especially after being influenced by a
couple of colleagues' and an English Wikipedia admin's work, I personally
developed a feeling of strong support for activities related to
accessibility, so this makes me delighted. Thanks for informing about this
development. Congratulations to the user group.

(Thinking out loud, this portion, not to anyone in specific, I might post a
longer version on the talk page as well)
This is an excellent scope to work with Manual of Style accessibility (
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Manual_of_Style/Accessibility) and
capable of providing important feedback related to accessibility and user
experience. I am somewhat crazy and dream one day all/majority Wikipedia
article images will have proper alt text. I randomly add ALT texts now and
then. If an event is conducted with a challenge to  alt text, or any
specific accessibility-related editing activity (lists, colors, text etc)
I'd be happy to join.)

PS: Note I have made a couple of very minor formatting changes in the UG
page on Meta-Wiki.

(I think it would be helpful, for this and other recent groups, to ensure
that the designated contacts for the group are clearly identified on the
group's Meta page.  People shouldn't have to guess how to make contact with
the group, and shouldn't just assume the first few names in the members
list are the designated contacts.)

@Jan: Hello! In February, we enabled the feature for two projects
(Wiktionary and Wikivoyage). This was because we wanted to release
incrementally and collect feedback before releasing to all wikis. This
recent update confirms that the feature has been released to all wikis and

Thank you, Katherine, for sending this e-mail, and thanks to you all for
these positive and uplifting comments in these replies.

As one of the participants who had been involved in the writing, it is an
enormous pleasure to see these strategic recommendations finally released.

I wanted to write a few lines to share immense gratitude to my friends, the
writers. I feel gratitude to those with whom I had the chance to work
closely, in this last phase and also in the Working Groups phase, and to
everyone who has been involved in this process, putting their time, energy
and hopes to have this 2030 horizon more and more defined. We had moments
of uncertainty and disagreement, but also of great complicity and
companionship that allowed us to overcome the challenges and come to this
point.

I also want to thank Katherine, the Core Team, Ryan and everyone who had
accompanied us in this process, for being the first contributors to it, for
their courage, and for trusting us and believing that a collaborative and
participatory process to define the strategy of the Movement was possible.
Not only was it possible, but I think it is the best way to do it
respectful of the nature and values of this Movement. Because as someone
said before, we’re building and growing our Movement together.

I want to reinforce that everything that has been written in these
recommendations is the product of intense discussions, taking into account
the contributions meta, the feedback from every event and call, and all the
known data of how the Movement works as well as the trends that indicate
the world that is coming.

Everything has been written with the Movement in mind, considering from the
smallest to the biggest actor, and therefore with the best intent to find a
balance point for everyone. As I talked to the other writers, I think we
often felt the privileged to be able to cultivate and enjoy this broad
perspective, but also a great responsibility for the result. Everyone who
had attended a strategy event, a call, or left a comment is a contributor
to these strategy recommendations.

Finally, I would like to invite you all not to overlook any section: the
introduction, the principles, and the narrative are valuable pieces of the
document. Even though the results from the recommendations are what is
going to be implemented more directly, all these other parts are essential
to understand how we can do it.

With this, I want to thank again to everyone. I hope I will see you in the
next calls to discuss and share ideas as we move forward.

The recommendations are online in Arabic, Chinese, English, French, German,
Hindi, Portuguese, and Spanish. We also have a summary available in
Catalan, Dutch, Farsi, Hebrew, Polish, and Russian, and we welcome
volunteer translation support for these and other languages.

We encourage you to read the recommendations in your own time and at your
own pace, either online [6] or in a PDF [7]. There are a couple of other
formats for you to take a deeper dive if you wish, such as a one-page
summary, slides, and office hours, all collected on Meta [8]. If you would
like to comment, you are welcome to do so on the Meta talk pages. However
please note that these are the final version of the recommendations. No
further edits will be made.

*=== What’s next ===*
The focus of the movement strategy process will shift toward
implementation. Originally, we had intended to meet in Berlin for the
Wikimedia Summit to discuss and plan how we want to move forward. Due to
the current global health crisis, this is unfortunately not possible.

Instead of a physical event, the Wikimedia Foundation is intending to host
a series of virtual events that will help us transition to the
implementation phase. The goal will be to produce a plan to begin the
implementation — to identify what initiatives must come first, and in what
sequence, and with what resources and support.

This series will not only address Wikimedia affiliates and the Wikimedia
Foundation, but have a wider scope to ensure various parts of the movement
are engaged in different ways. Planning has started, but it will take a few
more weeks. We are mindful that everyone has been impacted by the pandemic
in different ways, and we are therefore taking things one step at a time.
We expect to share more details this month, and begin this work together
through the summer and into the fall.

create these recommendations. True to the Wikimedia way, it is through the
contributions of many that we have reached this milestone.

Working group members dedicated more than a year to engaging with movement
stakeholders and developing the draft recommendations. On-wiki contributors
took part in community conversations to share their thoughts on the content
and help improve it. Affiliates and community organizers held dedicated
events to discuss strategy and provided valuable advice throughout the
process. Wikimedia Foundation staff and Board of Trustees supported and
guided the process from the beginning. The writing team and the reviewers
[9] worked tirelessly to revise and finalize the recommendations. Community

This is a really useful feature, thank you.

I hope https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/T153454 would also be considered 
sometime in the near future. It's not directly related, but related to password 
security.

Tldr, if I use abc123 as my password, I would get my normal admin account. But 
if I use xyz456 I would get it to the same account, but reduced access to power 
tools (useful for public computers).
