[Wikimedia-l] Announcing Wiki Loves Muslim Academia 2024

2024-01-13 Thread The Aafi
Greetings everyone,

I am delighted to announce the first edition of *"Wiki Loves Muslim
Academia ",* a
new Wiki Loves Campaign, which aims to help document knowledge related to
global Muslim academia across Wikipedia projects.

For the first edition, *Wiki Loves Muslim Academia 2024*
, we limit
ourselves to organising the campaign on Indic-language Wikis and the
English Wikipedia only, to take better care of on-wiki policies subject to
absence of a lot of helping people and teams.

We have compiled a set of instructions and other pages on the Meta-Wiki and
look forward to seeing Indian volunteers *contribute between 15 January and
16 February 2024! *The scope of the campaign has been highlighted on this
page
.

Should you have any questions, please let me know.

Best regards,
Aafi

2023-10-28 Thread The Aafi
Unfortunate. I pray alongwith others that this comes to end. It has taken
so many lives. RIP Hiba. Your words will help. These will be remembered.
May Allah Almighty grant you a highest abode in paradise. Aamin!

To Butch: I'm not sure if it's same as the Nada we had at Wikimania. Nada
Alfarra's Telegram shows last seen from yesterday and Hiba Abu Nada left
for the other world on 20 October. May she get peace.

Thank you Ciell for writing this in detail. However, I've an observation:

I am a translation admin and unfortunately this doesn't work well with me.
I have add incidents when I couldn't mark the translations live.

Hi Franziska,|

Thanks for this fabulous news. I have prepared and marked the main page for

nomination/registration date to be open until 15 August and the nominations
page
states
that nominations should be submitted before August 1. May I know what am I
