2021-07-10 Thread Lucy Crompton-Reid
Hi Terry

I wasn't aware of an event scheduled to happen yesterday. Today's AGM is
happening now but only people who had registered via Eventbrite would have
received the zoom link. Had you signed up that way? I'm going to email you
personally with the link in case you are able to join us!

Cheers

Thanks, Katie. What was it that happened to the event yesterday and I still
don't have a link to today's event?

attached please find details of work in progress supporting the proposal
for a Wikimedian in Residence at NHS Digital and the NHS Strategy Unit in
Leeds. They are working papers close to completion this month and
cross-refeMeanwhile, renced to the Case Study reported on p15 of the Wikimedia
UK
Strategic
Report 2020/21

(see extract downpage)..

It coincides with proposals made to the Good Things Foundation for
leveraging its recently announced £500,000 grant to increase activity to
counter digital exclusion, particularly amongst the 55+ age cohort.

I'm keen for the AGM to be aware of this in an effort to avoid potential
duplication of technology and HR investment. The aim is for everything to
run off MediaWiki in conjunction with Wiki Project Med
 and
the Wicipedia:Wicibrosiect
Wici-Iechyd
 led with
consumate and increasing success by Jason Evans
 (cc'd), Wales' National
Wikimedian.

I'm more than happy for the attached folder to be shared amongst other
Wikimedia UK members but with the caveat it remains work in progress until
full publication later this month.

Catch up with you shortly.

*p15 Extract: Case Study to share impact*
Increasing representat.ion of smaller language wikis has been
a successful focus of the Knowledge Equity programme, with
positive impact on Policy and Practice too. An agreement from
the Welsh Government that they would share all past and future
daily Covid briefings on Wikimedia Commons was the culmination
of many months of work by the team. Welsh Government press
releases by the First Minister, the Health Minister and NHS Wales
CEO are now on both CC-BY and OGL, and we have uploaded over
200 videos onto Commons which have been used on Wikipedia.
This is a significant policy move and a step towards open sharing
by a government supporting open access to information for
everyone in their society.

Resulting in 8 policy changes and 200 videos uploaded to Wikimedia Commons,
added to 151 Wikipedia articles and received 12 million views.
