Question about X11DRV_ChoosePixelFormat glXChooseFBConfig returns NULL (glError: 0)
Just for the info: after some digging i found a quick hack to get rid of the error: comment line 208 in dlls/x11drv/opengl.c: //TEST_AND_ADD1(ppfd-dwFlags PFD_STEREO, GLX_STEREO); Somehow setting the PFD_STEREO flag makes doom3 crash and triggers the error mentioned in the subject. After commenting line 208 doom3 starts up just fine. Digging further. :) (any help appreciated) Louis ___ To help you stay safe and secure online, we've developed the all new Yahoo! Re: Question about X11DRV_ChoosePixelFormat glXChooseFBConfig returns NULL (glError: 0)
Hi,thanks for looking into this. Appearantly this bug is different from the ones you're writing the patch for. I found that when i run it like this: WINEDEBUG=+relay, seh wine doom3.exe 2/dev/null the app comes up just fine. Somehow it needs to be slowed down a bit. I'll do some more digging to see if i can find anything useful. The bug must not be closed, as doom3 _does_ crash when i run it with current cvs in a normal way. --- Daniel [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: On Sun, Nov 27, 2005 at 03:24:32PM +, L. Lenders wrote: Hi Daniel, i opened a bug for this with requested info: bug 3956. Thanks for the help btw! regards Louis Ok, I managed to catch up. So let's see: 1. You do have client GLX 1.3, but server GLX 1.2 Raphael: That amounts to GLX version 1.2, the lower version is important. 2. You have a different problem. The calls to glXChooseFBConfig return NULL because your card doesn't want to do the requested visual. If you look closely, you will see another call to glXChooseFBConfig that does not fail because your card wants to do this visual. 3. bug #3956 should be closed. Daniel ___ Yahoo! Re: Question about X11DRV_ChoosePixelFormat glXChooseFBConfig returns NULL (glError: 0)
Can you provide me with a +opengl trace of running the demo? Also, I would like the output of 'glxinfo' on your system, along with 'XFree86 -version' I'll open a bug in bugzilla and post you the link, along with the info you asked. There is a native linux version[1] of that game. Why bothering with the windows version under wine? I know there's a linux version, but i would like to try this in wine for two reasons: 1. just to see if it runs, and see if i run into bugs in wine. 2. I've never been able to play the game in windows nor linux as it did shutdown my computer after about 1 minute (probably a problem with my hardware) I've been able to run the demo using wine for about 10 minutes now (allthough in desktop 640x480) without any bugs... ___ How much free photo storage do you get?
