Ok, that's good :)

I'm editing the resource files to adjust the size of the widgets. I'll send
the patches in a minute.

Did you mean "&Red:" and "Add &Purpose..."?

Wine's PO files change from time to time so identifying strings by their
order in the file or their line number is pretty fragile, not to mention
unintelligible.

When a dialog widget is too small and truncates the translations the
policy is to adjust the dialog to make the widget larger.

Shortened the string to "Install new software, or remove software from
your computer", since it can have at most 63 chars (as do the
translations).
I've sent a patch for this (http://source.winehq.org/patches/data/83672).

Problems with translatable strings

2012-02-14 Thread Gustavo Henrique Milaré
Hello,

I've encountered some issues while translating Wine to Brazilian Portuguese.

The first one is in string number 24 (line 150 in wine.pot) which is
related to wine control. When you open "wine control" and select the icon
"Add/remove programs", the status bar shows

"Allows you to install new software, or remove existing software"

while the string in wine.pot file reads

"Allows you to install new software, or remove existing software from your
computer."

Is there any reason for limiting the number of visible characters in wine
control's status bar? If there is, then it would be better to use a smaller
string instead.

There are also problems in strings number 119 (line 547) and number 494
(line 2075). The resource file doesn't allow enough space for the
appropriate translations ("Vermelho:" and "Adicionar Propósito...",
respectively).
