Re: Dragon Naturally Speaking - working.
I got NS7 working on Debian Sid, after running Sidenet setup on Wine 20050310. It took me a while to figure out that I need to raise the Capture level, not just the Mic volume on ALSA. Without it, it looked like NS (and Wine) didn't not pick up the mic even though I could hear myself on the speakers. Also, sometimes not all buttons are clickable even through they should be, so try Ctrl-S during the user setup. -- Konstantin Goudkov
Re: Dragon Naturally Speaking - working.
Great news. Could you give more details on your alsa setup? I have not managed to get alsa working with wine appart from putting oss in the wine config and using alsa-oss Regards, On Mon, 28 Mar 2005 13:50:08 +0200, Konstantin Goudkov [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: I got NS7 working on Debian Sid, after running Sidenet setup on Wine 20050310. I now need some help with the guts of Wine to see if I can capture the keystrokes output by Dragon and pipe it to another Linux thread. Any suggestions on that? TIA :) OK , solid progress here. I now have NS7 prefered installed. Steps needed : wine-cvs (20050305 9am CET) on top of wine20050211 WINEDLLOVERRIDES=ole32,oleaut32,rpcrt4=n wine setup.exe Setup complete without errors. Dragon NS required riched20.dll , that copy from win98SE CD was deemed too old , prog closed cleanly. copied riched32.dll and riched20.dll from win2k , this worked. I again hit the error with setting sound levels as I did with V4, I now get: fixme:mixer:MIX_GetLineInfo Unhandled component type (MIXERLINE_COMPONENTTYPE_DST_VOICEIN) fixme:keyboard:UnregisterHotKey (0x10080,1): stub fixme:mixer:MIX_GetLineInfo Unhandled component type (MIXERLINE_COMPONENTTYPE_DST_VOICEIN) fixme:mixer:MIX_GetLineInfo Unhandled component type (MIXERLINE_COMPONENTTYPE_DST_VOICEIN) This prevents Dragon from initialising the user. Gentrain.exe is now gentrain.dll so I cant use the nice little work around I found last time This should not be a major problem but I need another way round . The mike level is correctly set, I jsut need to convince NS not to try to mess with it. Any suggestions? Thx -- Opera 7 mail on Linux

Yes! :) Document what you did to get it working at the http://appdb.winehq.com web site so it can get recorded. :) Hiji __ Celebrate Yahoo!'s 10th Birthday! Yahoo!
