RE: [WISPA] Not me, no way!
I remember the same thing about the movie the net. I was so pissed off when they had Ip addresses in the 300's I can't even look at Sandra today without thinking poser! Then the movie firewall came out and Harrison Ford goes into a cisco pix firewall and puts such a lame access list in that stops a hacker. I almost died. Bye Bye Indiana I spent some time over at a forensic lab and asked them about CSI they had a similar reaction. You just can't take this stuff seriously because it happens in every environment. All the flaws in this and it still gets you when he looks down and you see the birds flying below. I enjoyed it, and I'll be having a coke and a smile. I realize it's a commercial and all; but seriously There appears to be a Ladder inside the tower, just like the 1,000 footers up here. I would surely not think they would try to climb the face of a tower like that. Second, a tower like that SWAYS big time that high up, with a good breeze I can watch the 1,100' tower sway with binoculars. During a storm, if it's light enough out, you can see it with the naked eye. The older fellow did not have any shock absorbing lanyards with, much less hooked off above him. However I would have liked to saw what happens to that coke bottle if it hit he ground. [WISPA] Wireless internet equipment Sales/Repairs (Alvarion, BreezeCom, BreezeACCESS, Canopy, Cisco)
Hello, Ezlinx.net is an ISP/WISP located in Wilkes-Barre, PA that also specializes in the repair of wireless internet equipment. We repair Cisco, Motorola Canopy, Alvarion, Proxim, Trango, and Tranzeo units. We currently offer two repair plans: Pay Per Unit Plan: We will repair your equipment for a fixed charge. Repair prices vary greatly due to the many different types of wireless equipment. Charges are determined by the manufacturer of the equipment, frequency range, and type of equipment (Subscriber / Access). Please call for a quote. We do not charge to examine your equipment so there is no charge unless we fix it! 50/50 Plan: Our alternate plan is whatwe call the 50/50 plan.Send us all your broken equipment and we will repair as much of it as we can. When we are done, the repaired equipment is split50/50 between your company and ours. We will send you back your half of the repaired equipment as well as any equipment that we couldn't fix. There is no monetary charge to you except theshipping charges to get the equipment to us. This plan works well for companies that have a box (or in some cases boxes) ofbroken equipment sitting in a corner somewhere. They don't know what todo with the equipment because repair charges would be astronomical and the units are out of warranty. Thanks to the 50/50 planhalf ofthat broken equipment can be turned into working assets! We test all units for full functionality after our repairs. Tests areperformed for association, attenuation, as well as traffic. We reset all units to full factory defaults and provide reports on our repairs. We have many customers satisfied with our repair work and just in case you are not satisfied all units come with a 30 day warranty. If you are interested we will gladly forward an email with instructions on how to send your equipment in. We also purchaseworking and non workingequipment. if you have access to inventory please call us at: 1-866-439-5469 or by email at [EMAIL PROTECTED]. [WISPA] I need a climber / tower maintainer...
I need someone who will do some reasonably priced tower climbing AND maintain a sadly neglected tower. The guys are not properly tensioned, and haven't been since it was erected some 5 - 7 years ago. I want to put stuff on this tower, but I refuse to be responsible for damage, should something happen because of the improper guy tension, etc. http://neofast.net/users/mark/pics/wp/klrftrans.jpg The tower owners / station managers have asked for references for someone to do this. How do I go about finding people? I don't see nuttin the yellow pages. This is for Eastern Oregon. [WISPA] NextLink last mile
Nextlink Expands Footprint, Will Act as Last-Mile for XO By Tara Seals Posted on: 08/28/2006 http://www.phoneplusmag.com/hotnews/68h281345417762.html Nextlink Wireless Inc. has launched broadband wireless in Atlanta, Chicago and Houston, and said announced that CLEC parent company XO will use Nextlink services as an alternative last-mile solution within the Nextlink nine-city footprint. Nextlink holds spectrum in the 75 largest U.S. markets. Today’s launch extends the company’s footprint to nine markets, including Dallas, Los Angeles, Miami, San Diego, Tampa and Washington, D.C. Nextlink services include broadband wireless access at speeds ranging from T1 up to OC 12 over licensed spectrum in the 28GHz-to-31GHz range. Nextlink’s point-to-point and point-to-multipoint solutions work through line-of-sight connections of up to seven miles. XO will avoid leasing circuits from the RBOCs by using Nextlink’s services where available as a last-mile access method to deliver dedicated Internet access and metropolitan and inter-city Ethernet solutions to businesses at speeds of 10mbps and 100mbps. XO will particularly target businesses that require higher speed broadband access but are constrained by the bandwidth limitations of copper, or lack direct access to fiber. Nextlink also targets the mobile backhaul space, and offers leased-line replacements to enterprise and governments directly. “Today’s announcement demonstrates that we are on track to meet our previously announced objective to launch services in twelve markets this year. It also illustrates the potential of fixed wireless services for applications beyond mobile backhaul,” said Nextlink CEO Bob Beran. “XO’s use of our broadband wireless solution for last-mile access and middle-mile leased line replacements validates the need for alternative access solutions in the carrier marketplace.” -- Regards, Peter RAD-INFO, Inc. - NSP Strategist We Help ISPs Connect Communicate 813.963.5884 http://4isps.com/newsletter.htm -- WISPA Wireless List: wireless@wispa.org Subscribe/Unsubscribe: http://lists.wispa.org/mailman/listinfo/wireless Archives: http://lists.wispa.org/pipermail/wireless/
