Re: [WISPA] Some great photos
*Just clearing up* My reply to the post was in no way political. The photos with the Iraqi's on the tower freaked me out because they have NO safety gear on what-so-ever. They are also only wearing tennis shoes. In my experience, they are very uncomfortable walking on metal edges in the metal yard... I can only imagine how they would feel on a tower. On another note... Do any of the armed forces sell off these towers? I know they sell off about everything else through govliquidation. I have not seen but two or three towers selling on there in two years of looking. Re: [WISPA] Fw: [TowerTalk] Tower Vandalism
There's a difference between killing someone who shows you a weapon and threatens your life versus someone who commits a felony on some remote property. Hardly anyone (or any state) would deny you the ability to use lethal force to defend your life. That's a lot different from hunting down and killing someone who steals or destroys your property at a remote location and is not threatening your life. A remote crime against property should be handled by the local law enforcement authorities. At any rate, discussions about killing are off-topic for this list. I'd suggest that we all get back to work and stop bragging about killing people. jack Jayson Baker wrote: This is also the case in Colorado. So if a drug dealer is doing a "deal" on your property (100 pounds of cocaine), you can shoot them? I highly doubt that. [WISPA] GPS NTP Server?
Anyone know of a place to buy a rackmount NTP server that obtains timing from GPS? I spent a few minutes on Google and found a couple that were $1000+. The PCI cards can be had for about $50, antenna's are almost free -- so one could build one, but I'd prefer an out of the box solution that looks nice in a rack. Jayson WISPA Wants You! Re: [WISPA] Fw: [TowerTalk] Tower Vandalism
. stop bragging about killing people. What a dopy comment. I haven't gathered anyone has bragged about killing someone. We get your stance Jack, so bottle it and stop trying to get the last word in and then suggest we all get back to work. FORT WORTH - An employee of a south-side roofing business shot a man he thought was a burglar late Wednesday, police said. The wounded man was in serious condition at John Peter Smith Hospital on Thursday, officials say. Officers went to Lon Smith Roofing, 904 E. Waggoman St., about 11:30 p.m. to investigate a report of a shooting, Sgt. Pedro Criado, a police spokesman, wrote in a news release. A company employee told them that he had responded to an alarm, and when he arrived, he saw a man coming out of the business with some stolen property, Criado wrote. The employee warned the man that he had a weapon and ordered him to stop, Criado wrote. The suspect reportedly charged the employee. The employee shot the suspect with one shot from a .38-caliber handgun, Criado wrote. The employee had a permit to carry a concealed weapon, and the case was under investigation Thursday, Criado said. It will be presented to a Tarrant County grand jury, which will determine whether it should go to trial. - Bill Miller http://www.star-telegram.com/metro_news/story/1565735.html Stories like this one are unfortunately common place around the country, but in some ways necessary. The more times people like this are stopped the less likely they will think to try it again at your place of business or home. From all preliminary accounts this employee is a hero and has been treated as such. Regardless of where you live it is impossible for law enforcement to be everywhere at all times. This in part why our founding fathers wrote the Second Amendment and why it is important to all law abiding citizens.
