I have a REALLY cheap camera/microphone from radio shack mounted outside
of my cableTV Head-end. It just puts video on channel 32 to fill a void
I have in my lineup. The camera looks at a 2 lane highway about 100 feet
away and just films the occasional car going by with a light
whhosshhh sound.

My wife and I call it tweaker-vision. Every time I turn it off to test a
new channel or whatever we get 15 calls from our tweaker customers
asking us why the channel is off the air!!!

the most inexpensive is in your trash pile, a power pinger, or CB3
radio, plug it in on the line side of the UPS and just ping it every
minute and you will know when you are on battery. Conversely for a
generator. also a camera facing a set of gages, voltage, line,
generator, oil pressure, temp, etc. Your probably too young to
remember the "cable weather channel" same thing but with music.

[WISPA] Ubiquiti AP ih a PTMP connections with MikroTik stations

2012-03-28 Thread Eduardo
Hi,

Has someone ever try to use a Bullet M2 as AP in a PTMP connection with RB411
and Atheros AR5413 as stations?

Is this worth to do in terms of performance?

We have a MikroTik PTMP cell and want to explore if it's possible to increase
performance with ubiquiti.

Any input will be appreciated.

Thanks,

Eduardo

802.11 is 802.11, you're not going to see a significant difference
between rb411 stations or Ubnt stations unless you increase signal
with a better antenna.

You could use nv2 to probably get more speeds, airmax tends to lower the speeds.

It is available where you can legally operate it.

10Ghz can't be used with the FCC. Looks like you're in Michigan
so...no soup for you =(

Has anyone figured out why its not available in fcc land? The 10ghz
bands have some ptp microwave designation but I
am not familiar with what modulation/antenna/etc are required in the bands

Not available in the U.S.

11GHZ or 6GHZ is still the way to go in the lower frequencies. Too bad
6ghz (and 7 for that matter) still require a 6 foot dish.
