I don't think we have pushed the envelope here. I've seen the charts,
though. It very much depends on your tolerance for outages. If this is
the sole link to some place, and it is mission-critical, then you can't
tolerate much down time and you can get really hurt by rain. If the
rain is falling 40 mm/hour, it could knock around 15 dB/km off your
path, which doesn't get you very far. But that's unusual here in the
northeast; most storms are maybe half that strong. Three or four miles
should be quite reliable; a 10-mile link might be workable if you have a
fallback path, but we haven't done it.

Re: [WISPA] Mixed Single and dual polarity?

2013-10-21 Thread Luciano - Computech
Yes

For example. If you mix an Airgrid 1x1 in a Sector that you have only 2x2
radios link NSM5 NB22 LocoM5 or NB25 in the time that it will transmit your
entire sector performance will fell down to 1x1 in the lowest MCS that your
Airgrid has in these airtime.

So here we recommend to separate 1x1 sectors using Bullet as an AP with Aigrids
as a CPE.
And 2x2 sectors Rocket as an AP and LocoM5 and NSM5 and NBs.

Obviously 2x2 will cost a little more but will give you 2x more throughput.

[WISPA] WISPALOOZA Slides

2013-10-21 Thread Matt
I was told Wispa members would be able to download the slides from the
show and they were uploaded already for fiber weekend. I cannot seem
to find them anywhere on Wispa.org even when logged in. Where are
they?

Also, when and where will the videos of the show be uploaded?

It'll be a short while for everyone to recover, get back to work, and get
that massive amount of information together. It will come, just be patient

Nathan did tell us the Fiber Weekend slides are up, but I can not find
that I noted where they are.

Re: [WISPA] WISPALOOZA Slides

2013-10-21 Thread Sam Tetherow
Go to the wispapalooza event page and scroll through the agenda. At the
top of each session there is a link for 'Presentation' which contains
the slides if they have been uploaded already.

Re: [WISPA] WISPALOOZA Slides

2013-10-21 Thread CBB - Jay Fuller

I just looked - apparently they are not all up yet. For example, looking at
the wispapalooza page, then agenda, then each event - there is a hyperlink as
part of the description that says "presentation"

a few of them say "no presentation"

Looks like only the fiber slides so far. I'm sure it won't be too long
for the rest.
