[WISPA] Slightly OT: punching holes in stainless steel enclosures

2016-06-18 Thread mike . lyon
Howdy.

Ordered a nice new stainless steel outdoor enclosure to house some equipment. I
need to put some 3/4 inch holes in it. Anyone happen to know if using a regular
Klein or Greenlee punch set will do the trick? I know they work great on mild
steel but wasn't sure about stainless.

Anyone ever done it before?

Please Clarify what "8 miles NLOS means". You can't do 8 miles of solid
foliage on 900M forget about 5Ghz there is simply no way that you
have 8 solid miles of foliage and are getting a signal on 5Gig.

I don't expect the Baicell BTS to have the tree penetration that the
Telrad BTS has until the Baicell has 4x4.

There is just so much more to nlos than signal level, want to rip out my hair
sometimes.
I was surprised, just deployed a mimosa a5 for a customer's network replacing
an m2 network and seem to be getting better signal levels through foliage with
the mimosa.
I have dug deep buy I think the gain on the c5 clients is quite a bit more but
still a pleasant surprise.
One of our Bai Cells deployments is going to a town called pinesdale, so I'm
interested to see how this goes.

Regardless. If you can get a -85 with Ubiquiti m5 I would expect slightly
better with 3GHz, plus no noise, plus higher LTE sensitivity  and modulation.

Re: [WISPA] Baicells - who's deployed it?

2016-06-18 Thread Adair Winter
Telrad's 4x4 is making it's way back. We just rolled the firmware out
across all of our base stations.
It'll be GA pretty quick. We say the typical 3-5db improvement even on our
NLOS customers.

Re: [WISPA] Baicells - who's deployed it?

2016-06-18 Thread Matt Hoppes
Is Telrad 4x4? I know they talked about it but I thought they pulled it and
were only doing 2x2?

Regardless. If you can get a -85 with Ubiquiti m5 I would expect slightly
better with 3GHz, plus no noise, plus higher LTE sensitivity and modulation.

I don't expect the Baicell BTS to have the tree penetration that the Telrad
BTS has until the Baicell has 4x4.
