I'm going to ditto this. I've gotten no mail except this discussion, and
normally I get much more.

Also am not getting the fiber list, even though I'm subscribed and have been
told mail was sent there.

Re: [WISPA] WaveRider connectors needed

Use some sandpaper to slightly reduce the diameter of the center conductor
of the LMR200 where the pin connects to. I have not found other 3rd party
source. You could try Vecima direct.

I ordered 10 of them a few months ago but they only fit LMR195 and we
have LMR200 everywhere. If we need to replace the cabling I guess we
will - much easier to replace the end than run a new cable and re-tape
the antenna connection, especially this time of year.

Thanks for the info.

Re: [WISPA] UPS With SNMP Support

2011-09-17 Thread Leroy Koglin
We have been using the Tripplite 1500XL model for about 6-8 months now and
have been happy with them. UPS reports the battery voltage is 54v. The
double conversion does draw more power during normal operation but also
allows it to continue to power loads even when AC input power is as low as
about 60v AC or so without actually switching to battery draw. Only issue
has been portable generator power they do not like. Our old APC models we
could change the sensitivity to make them work. I have not found an option
in the tripplite's.

Was looking at this model:

http://www.tripplite.com/en/products/model.cfm?txtModelID=4387

Offers SNMP and email alerts. Noticed the connector on the back.
Wander if we can build our own external packs as well? Does this look
like the same connector as your units? What did you use for
batteries? I am guessing 72 volt?

I wondered about just swapping out the batteries on my APC units and
instead hooking the units to bigger batteries. My fear is that the
chargers won't hold up to long charge times that would be needed for a
big marine battery instead of a little exit light battery

Thoughts? Anyone already tried this?
