RE: [WISPA] CPE...Cat5...grounding
I don't think the drain wire would be big enough to ground the mount. We ground the drain wire to the lug in the Canopy 300ss. Re: [WISPA] CPE...Cat5...grounding
What do you ground the shield to? We are needing to ground the mounting arm. Plus, I would think that it would be hard to attach the shield to a ground rod plus this would require that the Cat5 be cut outside which is something we are wanting to prevent. If we had a Cat5 with an attached ground wire then it would be nice to cut the ground wire and attach both of the cut ends to the ground rod then the outside end would be attached to the mounting arm and the inside end could be attached to a Cat5 surge protector. Re: [WISPA] CPE...Cat5...grounding
Even a shielded, flooded cat5 with messenger would work, but I have been searching for that for years with no luck. When I worked for a cable company, (many years ago), we had an RG-6 cable with a copper plated steel messenger line. It worked for overhead work as well as grounding.
