Yes. Both error messages are there in English and Spanish as well.

Error 1313, Error 1314.

Translations are avaliable in Spanish WXL file. But, These errors are not
translated when MSI is running.

[WiX-users] [WIX]: How to display UAC prompt as much early as possible

2015-04-06 Thread Dileep S
Hi All,

I have created MSI with two dialogs.
1) InstallDirDlg.wxs
2) ProgressDlg.wxs

Enable the Elevation shield property set as 'yes' for 'Next' button in
'InstallDirDlg.wxs' dialog.

UAC prompt displayed after some time (i.e, approximately 1 minute).

Is there any way to get the UAC prompt less than 5 sec.

I have used following custom actions in Execute sequence,

  NOT REMOVE ~=
"ALL"
  REMOVE =
"ALL"

Can anyone help me to solve this.

Thanks in advance.

[WiX-users] [WIX]:How to reset the INSTALLDIR path by changing the path using 'Change' button

2015-04-06 Thread Dileep S
Hi All,

I created an MSI with two dialogs.
1. InstallDirdlg.wxs
2. ProgressDlg.wxs

In *.wxs file i have used some custom actions to install the files.

In InstallExecuteSequence,

  NOT REMOVE ~=
"ALL"
  REMOVE =
"ALL"

using the above custom actions, I was able to run MSI package for multiple
times.

So, first time i ran the MSI package and then installed on the selected
location using 'Change' button in 'InstallDirDlg.wxs'. (Ex: C:\Program
Files\MyAPP)
Next time when i ran the MSI package, it was copying in the same location
even i changed the path to another location.
(Ex: D:\Sample\MyApp)

I have set the property as shown below:

Also,
 (hard coded this path)

In Dialog.wxs,

1

Can anyone help me how to reset the INSTALLDIR path by changing the path
using 'Change' button.

Thanks in advance.

[WiX-users] [WIX]: How to extract the files in selected folder using MSI dialog.

2015-03-25 Thread Dileep S
Hi All,

I have created MSI using WIX with InstallDir dialogs.

I have extracted the MSI package with default. While extracting it shows
UAC prompt and then extracted successfully.

But, second time installation, i have changed the folder to extract.
This time, it was not showing any UAC prompt and then not extracted the
files in selected folder.

How to extract the files in selected folder using MSI dialog.

Please any suggestions.

Thanks in advance.

Execute setup.exe from MSI package location (which is not packaged) using
MSI.

Step1: Created a c++ custom action to get the current directory and set the
EXEPATH property.

Step2: Set the INSTALLDIR property to setup.exe parent folder path.

Step3: Added a custom action shown below to execute setup.exe.

Step4: In "InstallExecuteSequence",
NOT REMOVE ~=
"ALL"

setup.exe is not running.

Please help me to solve this.

Yes, I also set the /codepage/ in the product as well as
/summaryCodepage/ in the package element.

I was not able to see this in my local system. File name appears like
ƒTƒ“ƒvƒ‹_’èŒ^06.SFC.
How did you convert this filename before adding it to the script?
Do we need to specify any character code to read this?

Re: [WiX-users] [WIX]: Japanese MSI package creation

2015-02-03 Thread Dileep S
Hi Valdimar,

I also used same on top of wxs file.

If file name is in English there is no problem to create Japanese MSI
package.
If file name contains Japanese characters this problem occurs.

Can you just check with your Wix Source by specifying Japanese characters?

In folder it self i was able to see file name as like this ('
ƒTƒ“ƒvƒ‹_’èŒ^06.SFC').

Can you just try and let me know by giving the file name same like this?

Thanks in advance.

[WiX-users] [WIX]: Japanese MSI package creation

2015-02-02 Thread Dileep S
Hi Wix-Users,

I have created a sample MSI using WIX for Japanese language.

I have packaged some files with Japanese names.(Please refer Jpn_files.png)

I got following error:
error LGHT0311: A string was provided with characters that are not
available in the specified database code page '932'. Either change these
characters to ones that exist in the database's code page, or update the
database's code page by modifying one of the following attributes:
Product/@Codepage, Module/@Codepage, Patch/@Codepage,
PatchCreation/@Codepage, or WixLocalization/@Codepage.

executed WIX on Windows 7 32 bit English.

Japanese files are also displaying the same.

So, please help me to solve this issue.

Thanks in advance.

2014-06-05 Thread Dileep S
Hi All,

After building WIXProject (*.wixproj) file, it creates the MSI file in
'bin\$(configuration)' location.

Query: I want to copy the output MSI file from 'bin\configuration' location
to another location (ex: C:\MSI\)?

Is there any setting in (*.wixproj) file to copy the MSI file after
building?

Please help me to solve this?

[WiX-users] [WIX]: Handle WIX default dialog

2014-02-02 Thread Dileep S
Hi All,

I have to display an external resource dialogs instead of WIX UI (MSI)
dialogs.

I can able to display an external resource dialogs using WIX custom actions.
But, WIX progress dialog still remain as shown in below screenshot.
Is there any way to handle this WIX dialog like below

1) can we hide this dialog?
2) can we disable this dialog until custom action (used for display
external dialogs) completes?
3) can we disable the 'Cancel' button until custom action (used for display
external dialogs) completes?

Thanks in advance...

2013-12-02 Thread dileep s
Hi Blair,

The following code is in SampleDLL.dll
DLL Main() in c++ custom action project:

switch(ulReason)
{
Case DLL_PROCESS_ATTACH:
{
  int ret = ::DialogBoxParam(hInst, MAKEINTRESOURCE(IDD_DIALOG1), 0,
DlgProc,0);
}

break;

}

BOOL CALLBACK DlgProc(HWND hWnd, UINT Msg, WPARAM wParam, LPARAM lParam)
{
switch(Msg)
 {
 case WM_COMMAND:
  switch(LOWORD(wParam))
  {
  case IDYES:
   {

   How to call bootstrapper methods here...
   }
  case IDCANCEL:
   {
 bRet = DestroyWindow(hWnd);
 break;
   }

  default:
   {
 break;
   }
  }
 }
}

Re: [WiX-users] [WIX]: How to trigger my MSI file when I select install option in Wix Custom Bootstrapper UI

2013-12-01 Thread dileep s
Hi Blair,

I have created the C++ custom action project.
Created Dialog Resource file.
Created functions in C++ custom action DLL Main() to load the resource.
Build C++ custom action project.

Then, Added custom action dll into Bundle.wxs file.

Using the above, I can able to load the UI.

I have not getting any clue to use that burn install actions.

Thanks in advance.

[WiX-users] [Wix] How to pass an argument to MSI with in EXE file?

2013-09-11 Thread dileep s
Hi All,

Silent installation is not working for WIX bootstrapper (.exe) using
command prompt.

Wix bootstrapper includes MSI package.

Silent installation for MSI is working fine.

For installing MSI silently from command prompt.
 msiexec /i "Myfile.msi" /qn /l "D:\log.txt" MODEL="xxx"

For installing EXE silently from command prompt:
Myfile.exe /s /v"/qn MODEL=\"xxx\""

How to pass an argument to MSI with in EXE file?

Regards,
Dileep.

[WiX-users] [WIX] How to installing same MSI file twice

2013-09-10 Thread dileep s
Hi All,

I have created MSI using WIX for installing printer driver.

When I installed MSI first time, it was installed the printer driver
correctly.

When I want to install the other printer driver using same MSI file, it
shows Maintenance mode UI.

How to show the Installation UI dialogs instead of Maintenance mode UI,
when second time MSI is clicked?

Thanks in advance...

I have Config.ini file which is having Model Information.

If this Config.ini file is existing in Windows folder before running MSI

Is there any way to copy INI file and read that while installing MSI.
