My apologies for not being complete. That is the exact procedure I use and found it works well. Re: [WiX-users] Registering a com server within an installation
I'd second the recommendation of RegSpy, it's worked pretty well for me in the past. Do keep in mind that you should tweak the the wxs file to resolve things like file references before you start building with it. --Nathan On Mon, Feb 1, 2010 at 9:09 AM, Ken Halprin wrote: > I've used the free utility 'RegSpy' to capture .reg files for my COM servers > (exe, dll, and tlb). Re: [WiX-users] Registering a com server within an installation
You could use ProcessMonitor from http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb896645.aspx and run the COM server registration process ( the command line is probably {yourexename} /regserver ). The ProcessMonitor will give you the registry keys accessed by the process. Normally you should have entries under HKCR and HKCR\CLSID. Then I think somebody more experienced with Wix can tell you how to write these entries in the registry at installation time and also ensure they are removed at uninstall.
