Re: Dammit, Iran, we warned you about pre-empting Jeopardy!'s GOAT.. (and BYOT)

I expect you're right.  When I first checked the IPG, it was only showing 3
nights (which seemed to imply, in a "winner is first to three matches"
tournament, that somebody sweeps).  But after last night's game, where that is
now impossible, I see that the IPG has been updated to _7_ nights, which is the
most matches possible.  They probably should have gone with the World Series
system, i.e. for games 5-9, "Game 5, if necessary" :-)

I suspect that ABC is handling the program listings for this in the same way
they do the NBA finals — on the nights on which the later games would take
place, temporarily slotting in sitcom reruns or other programming until it
becomes known that the later games will take place.

You know, until I started watching the reruns of the show (I had
caught some of it way back, why yes, I'm ancient..) I had never
know the provenance of that song...

(And damn you, MeTV, for pulling the show)

The paragraph about “Wheel of Fortune” contains bad info. The Byrnes-hosted
pilot was in 1974, and his replacement as host when it went to series,
premiering at the beginning of 1975, was Chuck Woolery. (Pat Sajak replaced
Woolery at the very end of 1981.)
