Ooh!  Ooh!  I do!  They're everywhere!  Though, since I'm in Hawaii, it
could just be a coincidence.

BTW, Hawaii voted Obama in by the largest margin in the country: 72% to
McCain's 27%.  And I've heard more than one person grumble about the news
media saying he's from Illinois (technically true, but we're a proud state
at the moment.)

ok, to be precise, Atlantis, the city, did not die.  Atlantis, the TV
series, did die.  Stargate Universe is a different show, much like SG-1 and
Atlantis were two different shows.  From the sci-fi website:

I was disgusted/disappointed that CNN's initial Breaking News banner
claimed, on the top line that the quake was in "S California" and on the
bottom line, that it was in Baja.

I continue to be annoyed by reports that it was felt in Los Angeles & "as
far away as Arizona!". Ummm... look at a map, AZ is on the border as well.

Part of my job is to roll the teleprompter that also feeds the CC system. I
gave up long ago complaining about scripts that don't match tapes, editing
notes, & stage direction. They only care that there is captioning & that
it's close enough to what's on screen to give context.

Sadly, CNN is usually my default as well (for lack of a less infuriating TV
news source). The "horrifying" debate was between Don Lemon & and a
pilot/"expert". Don was infuriating, asking questions that had JUST been
answered & arguing/dismissing the experts he was interviewing.

I also couldn't figure out why he was interviewing Richard Quest (in
London), about a SF plane crash - not discussing, interviewing.

I never made it to Wolf Blitzer. Had to turn off the TV before my head
exploded.

Sadly, this has become common in the least few months. Between hikers
getting injured/stranded/swept away by flash floods, & people getting swept
off the rocky shore by high surf or caught in rip currents, the weather
here seems to be taking out a few people every week. Sadly, most of the
deaths are preventable.
