[WSG] Drop Down Navigation

2006-01-27 Thread Audano, Chris
I'm almost finished with the CSS drop down with a fly out navigation
(using a small bit of JS). Here's what I'm trying to do...

The navigation is horizontal that stretches 700 px. The far right side
I want the drop down fly outs to fly out to the left verses right. I
can change all of the menus to fly out to the left, but how do I select
those few to do this?

/*Code for flyout to go to the right*/
ul#navmenu ul ul,
ul#navmenu ul ul ul {
  display: none;
  position: absolute;
  top: 0;
  left: 160px;

/* Working Code for Navigation -Left flyout*/ ul#navmenu ul ul,
ul#navmenu ul ul ul {
  display: none;
  position: absolute;
  top: 0;
  left: -160px;

/* 2nd Menu Hover Persistence Arrow Blue-LightGray*/ ul#navmenu li:hover
a.arrow1, ul#navmenu li.iehover a.arrow1 {
 background-image:url(/Test/Navigation/arrow-small3.gif);
 background-position:right;
 background-repeat:no-repeat;
}

NOTE: I would like Benefits to fly out to the left verses right. I
could apply this to the top level, Human Resources, but I'm not sure
about the coding.

  lia href=/Human_Resources/index.cfm target=_topHuman
Resources/a/li
ul
  lia href=/Human_Resources/Contacts/Index.cfm
target=_topContacts/a/li
  lia href=/Human_Resources/Benefits/Index.cfm target=_top
class=arrow1Benefits/a/li
ul
  lia href=/Human_Resources/Benefits/Insurance/index.cfm
target=_topInsurance/a/li
  lia
href=/Human_Resources/Benefits/Flexible_Benefits/index.cfm
target=_topFlexible Spending/a/li
/ul

[WSG] Spacing Between Paragraphs

2004-08-04 Thread Audano, Chris

Im
new to CSS and Im having difficulties trying to make two paragraphs look
as one (without extra line spacing). I have a graphic to the left with a
title Contacts to the right of the graphic. I would like
the Contact Name to go directly under the title
Contacts without extra spacing. Using the .p
contacts doesnt seem to do anything no matter how I modify it.

Can
anyone assist?

div
id=contacts

p class=contacts_imgimg src=""
alt=Question Mark Graphic width=45
height=45/p

span class=contact_NameContacts/span

p class=pContact Name/p

/div

#contacts{

font-size:80%;

text-align:left;

}

.contacts_img{

float:left;

width: 4em;

padding: 0 0 0 3px;

}

.contact_Name
{

font-size: 125%;

font-weight: bold;

color: #006699;

}

.p contacts{

line-height: 14pt;

font-weight:bold;

}

Title: Message

I cant believe I did that.oops!

Still, how do you push up the second line to go directly
under the title? I read that you shouldnt use a negative padding numberright?

You need to use this selector:

 #contacts .p { etc...

instead of the .p contacts { you currently
have since there is no such element as 'contacts'.

Hope this helps. :)

Thanks so much. What I needed was the bottom margin.

P.S.  Excellent ListServe!

Try:

div id=contacts
img src=/Assets/Graphics/SiteWide/QuestionMark_Icon.gif alt=Question

Mark Graphic width=45 height=45
h3 class=contact_NameContacts/h3
Contact Name
/div

#contacts{

text-align:left;

#contacts img{
float:left;
width: 4em;
padding: 0 0 0 3px;
}

#contact h3{
font-size: 125%;
font-weight: bold;
color: #006699;
margin-bottom : 0;
}

I choose h3 because it seemed like a heading and I guessed that 3 was
the right level.

I dropped p class=contacts_img since is wasn't a paragraph and it
wasn't doing anything. When an inline element is floated an anonymous
box is created for it.

p class=p, besides be confusingly named, didn't appear to be a
paragraph either.
