I understand Serge, but one way to find out is to see if you are in his
logbook via QRZ.  I agree it's difficult just looking at the QSO text,
and I

appreciate Bill's comment.  I also agree with Bill that logging the QSO
makes the most sense.

Thank you for your answer, however my questioning is on the software side,
not on the call itself.

With the following messages from WSJT-X, I feel - I can be wrong, but - I
feel that I cannot decide whether the QSO is completed or not completed.
See, the last message I read from the 4X station is not clear as to
whether

this message is for me or for someone else.

Hi Serge,

this is another variant on the known issue with hash collisions in
WSJT-X v2.0.0. In this case the first message you receive with your
callsign hashed:

151900 -19 0.3 1693 ~ <...> 4X19HNY RR73

is not printed correctly because WSJT-X has not stored your own
callsign in the relevant hash table (not a hash collision but a
missing hash code mapping to you callsign). Although it is not clear
you can be quite certain that 4X19HNY has copied your call correctly
since it was sent in full during the QSO in the message:

151730 -17 0.4 1694 ~ F6BHK <4X19HNY> -22

I would log the QSO as it almost 100% certain that the sign off
message sent by 4X19HNY was " 4X19HNY RR73" and it will be in
his log.

This issue is resolved for the next release of WSJT-X.

73 & Merry Christmas
Bill

Re: [wsjt-devel] Possible bug WSJT-X 2.0 FT8 F/H mode

2018-12-25 Thread John Becker
After reading the responses from G0HDB and K9AN, these questions came to
mind:

Using this sequence of exchanges as an example:

181222_230215 Transmitting 3.567 MHz FT8: HV0A K9MM EN62

230230 -6 0.5 303 ~ S58N HV0A +01
230230 -7 0.5 363 ~ RN1ON HV0A -09
230230 -7 0.5 423 ~ DL8AKI HV0A +14
181222_230245 Transmitting 3.567 MHz FT8: HV0A K9MM EN62

230300 -6 0.5 303 ~ DL8AKI RR73; DK7OB +00
230300 -7 0.5 363 ~ RN1ON RR73; IK5MEJ +00

Did DL8AKI and RN1ON get a QSO with HV0A or with MI0KOA in their
wsjtx_log.adi file?

Did these QSOs appear in HV0A's wsjtx_log.adi file?

This relevant message from one of the HV0A operators was posted to
wsjtgr...@yahoogroups.com yesterday:

Dear colleagues, I wanted to inform you of the following problem.
I am one of the members of the team that takes care of the HV0A station in
the Vatican City.
Last week I activated the station for the first time in FT8 Fox mode due to
the unmanageable pileup in normal mode.
At the end of the operation in 10 MHz I uploaded the wsjt_log.adi file to
LOTW without checking if the contents of the Fox Log and this file were
identical.
Last night I activated HV0A again in 80m FT8 Fox mode making over 400 QSOs.
The content of the wsjt_log.adi file is only 280 QSO.
In consideration of the fact that the Fox Log file is not exportable in any
way (only Delete or Reset possibility) and it is not copyable, I have made
some screen shots and now I am adding the missing QSOs by hand.
I also received protest emails for failing to load QSO during the first
operation.
I wanted to report this malfunction to you.

Program Version 2.0-0
Win7 64bit operating system
Lack of QSOs in wsjt_log.adi

Same message sent to Develop Team was rejected.
Tank you in advance for the help
