Try the View menu and turn off Astronomical data.

 Hello,

I just compiled the latest available WSJT-X on my Linux opensuse Tumbleweed.

It looks like everything is working as usual but if I switch on FT4 mode the
band selector and frequency indicator on main window become red, I can transmit
but cannot change the band!

I don't know what could be the cause of this mode switch problem since WSJT-X
is communicating perfectly through hamlib toward my radio.

Another side note is that I recently have sent an update for Italian
translation and I remember to have added the "RX all frequency" suggestion for
F/H mode but when I hover the mouse on it, nothing is displayed.

I suppose my translation file has arrived after the wsjtx.2.3.0-rc2.tgz has
been created...

 Thanks and best regards!

...Beside the FT4 issue, I just verified that also FST4 and FST4W are not
permitting bands change.

 Cheers,

 Marco

...Last but not least when I verified mode-by-mode switching behavior of the
program, I activated in some way the "Astronomical Data" window which now I
can't close in any way just minimize it but not close it and if I exit the
program and restart the Astronomical Data window jumps up again also if I'm on
FT8 mode!

 Thanks for your kindest attention!

Please disregard the latter report because the Astronomical Data is

[wsjt-devel] Green RX Mark

2020-12-25 Thread Andy Durbin
"Green RX Mark can not be set lower than 200Hzbut decodes a station
at 161Hz"

I hope the WSJT-X team never decides to inhibit decodes below 200 Hz. These
stations can be worked with suitable techniques despite the fact that WSJT-X
refuses to allow the TX and RX cursors to be placed below 200 Hz. (Most rigs
have RIT, XIT, and a big tuning knob, and there is no requirement to respond on
the other stations calling frequency)

I decode from the bottom up to 5,000 Hz and have decoded and worked stations
working well outside the "normal" frequency span.

[wsjt-devel] RC2 PTT split mode problem

2020-12-25 Thread Black Michael via wsjt-devel
When rig is in split mode and you open Settings split mode is still on.  Then
doing "Test CAT" turns split mode off regardless of Split Operation setting so
"Test PTT" doesn't test split mode.

Re: [wsjt-devel] WSJT-X 2.3.0-rc2 auto-stop TX not working?

2020-12-25 Thread Enrico Schürrer OE1EQW
Find a free frequency but not that of the CQ calling station. Then your
WSJT-X will not stop broadcasting either.

It is important to call NOT on the frequency of the CQ-calling station!

Greetings-- I may be imagining this (apologies if so), but there may be
a change of behavior between RC1 and RC2 or thereabouts with regard to
transmitting. I'm running RC2 compiled on Debian Linux, Kenwood TS-590.

I seem to recall in the past that if:
Some station is calling CQ
You attempt to answer
They begin a QSO with some other station

Then WSJT-X's TX automatically disables, as a courtesy to the two
other stations beginning a QSO.

Seems it remains engaged now, and you need to manually turn off TX to
that station lest you step on their QSO.

Has this behavior changed, or am I imagining things? I run only split
mode these days, if that has anything to do with it.
