[wsjt-devel] Runtime error (sub process) - collected data
Hi Bill, Joe, Steve and all other participants in this forum RE: Sub process error I listened a long period of time on two WSJT-X FT4 instances at the same time. There were no errors. I listened at the "normal" decoding level. At the time (20:04) when I changed the level of decoding to "deep" sub process error has occurred. In this folder are placed audio files from time poit 20:04 and a text document with the error code and a line`s from the all.txt file showing the last correctly decoded signal. The change to deep level in the second instance did not cause this error. (Maybe it was just a coincidence). But maybe this data will be useful in some way. (/You've received the folder access link in the Google Docs Notification)/ Words of appreciation for a large work contribution for the entire development team. And for all testers present on the forum, supporting development work with their observations. 73`s. Re: [wsjt-devel] WJTX and JTDX Audio Input Level
Hi Enrique, http://physics.princeton.edu/pulsar/k1jt/Reported_bugs.txt 1. The 64-bit executable for Windows resets the audio input gain to 100% on program startup, when the input audio device is changed, and when switching to a new configuration. 73`s Joe Jozef LB1HI On 03/05/2019 23:50, Enrique Scheuer wrote: Hello Bill or Joe, good evening, For some reason since I´ve installed WSJT X 2.1.0 the already known 100% audio input level jumped also in my JTDX 135. I am not succeeding to go back to lower audio levels in JTDX. Any reason for that ? Any suggestion? 73 de Enrique PY2CP ___ wsjt-devel mailing list wsjt-devel@lists.sourceforge.net https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/wsjt-devel ___ wsjt-devel mailing list wsjt-devel@lists.sourceforge.net https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/wsjt-devel
Re: [wsjt-devel] Another observed drawback - audio input level
a quotation from sourceforge . Windows users will discover that WSJT-X v2.1.0 has been made available as a 64-bit MS Windows build for 64-bit versions of Windows since Vista. This veraion has one known defect. The audio input device level will be reset to 100% when WSJT-X is started, when the input audio device is changed, and when switching to a new configuration. This is a Qt framework defect that we have reported and is being fixed in a future release; until then users should take care to set the device audio level back to 0dB or lower depending on requirements. Note that many sound cards and chips have real gain ahead of the ADC, as much as 14dB, which will be turned to the maximum due to this defect and is usually undesirable when using WSJT-X. Despite this annoying defect, we recommend the 64-bit version of WSJT-X on MS Windows as it has significant advantages in decoding speed. -- 73 from Joe, K1JT; Steve, K9AN; and Bill, G4WJS. Re: [wsjt-devel] Waterfall with FT4
Hi, Even with the setting NAvg=1 the distance between the lines separating the period is "quite small". But first, the technical functionality of the software is a priority. In the future, when it will work as it should. It would be nice to have "cosmetic" treatments for visual appearance and ergonomics. 73`s, Joe On 01/05/2019 15:23, Black Michael via wsjt-devel wrote: Would be nice if the waterfall settings were by-mode. In particular the short FT4 sequences require NAvg=1 to see the time stamps where that NAvg is too fast for FT8.
