Re: [wsjt-devel] WSJTX Problem with FT8 Config

2017-08-07 Thread Dan Malcolm
Found the problem. I caused it but not sure why. In setting->Frequencies in
the Station Information block, I had entered an offset of 14.074.000. That
should be left at zero. Never the less, in a dialog box labeled “Station
Information”, I didn’t think the offset would affect anything except what was
reported to PSKReporter. I knew there was something odd about the set
frequency being double what was called for.

Have you rebuilt hamlib recently?

I'm running r8013 on an ANAN 100 and don't see this behavior.

And have you tried resetting the default frequencies? Seems that cures all
sort of strange frequency behavior.

File/Settings/Frequences and right-click in the Working Frequencies and select
Reset.

Subject: [wsjt-devel] WSJTX Problem with FT8 Config

I am running WSJT-X 1.7.1 r8013 (and can run v1.8 RC1 and v1.7.1). I have both
an Apache ANAN 100D and a Yaesu FT-950. This just started this morning and I
don’t know the cause. The problem actually started while running r8003. If
you look at the screen captures please look at them in pairs. The “FT8 Config”
pair go together, as does the “JT65 Config” pair.

I am at a loss to explain the cause. While using the “FT8 Config” WSJT-X is
only happy when it shows 14.074 in the frequency window, or any other frequency
selected by WSJT-X. With 14.074 in the WSJT-X frequency window, PowerSDR is
set at 28.148 Mhz. With any other WSJT-X selected frequency, both WSJT-X and
PowerSDR agree and are happy. Only 14.074 shows an issue. The problem is also
only exhibited while using the Apache ANAN 100D. If I switch to the FT-950
everything works perfectly.

If I use the PowerSDR controls to set 14.074Mhz in PowerSDR, WSJT-X shows all
zero’s with a red background.

My first thought was something had happened to the PowerSDR database, so I
rebuilt that from scratch. No help. Uninstalled and rebooted and then
reinstalled PowerSDR. No help. Built a fresh this morning WSJT-X v1.7.1
r8013. No help.

I’m not yet done with the weirdness. If I use the ANAN 100D and WSJT-X but
switch to the JT65/9 Mode it all works just fine. The one common item seems to
be the “FT8 Config”. I cloned the working “JT65-9 Config” and made it the
“FT8 Config”. The problem remains. The only constant left is FT8 and 14.074
while using the Kenwood TS-2000 radio model (which has always worked fine). So
I tried the TS-50S. No help.

I’m out of ideas. I’m not entirely sure at this point that the WSJTX beta
software is at fault, but being beta it’s a place to start.

2017-08-07 Thread Dan Malcolm
I rebuilt HamLib about a week ago. Right after the build changes were
implemented. I have reset the default frequencies 3 or 4 times today. Since
it has been a few days for HamLib3, I’ll go ahead and build it again.
