After I deleted that file, it has yet to be recreated with the new client.

I'll see if I can do more testing later today.

Re: [X2Go-User] Copy and paste between systems stops working

2020-01-17 Thread Paul Borowicz
I'm on openSuse. I've always have trouble cutting and pasting between next
to go and Windows using the mouse.

I usually have pretty good success if I copy from x to go using the
control-shift-c method and then paste with control-v on Windows.

[X2Go-User] browser crashes on disconnect

2019-07-08 Thread Paul Borowicz
I've been using x2go for awhile now, years. Recently I rebuilt my server
and moved the drives around.

I used to be able to leave a session running with firefox or chrome, but
everytime I disconnect now Firefox and chrome die. Other programs, for
example konsole and qbittorrent don't, just browsers.

I've looked in my journelctl and I don't see anything. Any ideas?
I'm on Opensuse 15.

If you launch the client from the commandline you can add a -debug flag and
get some output to help troubleshoot. You can also up the log level on the
server.

I've been using opensuse 15 with kde 5. I had some problems with the KDE
desktop at first, but it seems to work fine now.

Occasionally I get a weird issue where firefox won't render anything, just
a blank page. I have a bug in with mozilla, but I can't replicate it
although it's happened 2 or 3 times, working fine on a local session, but
not via x2go until I downgrade.

I usually see this when there are stuck session files. Make sure you don't
have any processes running for that user.
Clean out ~/.x2go. You may also have to delete some stuff in /tmp.

[X2Go-User] X2go session won't connect

2018-04-18 Thread Paul Borowicz
I've been wrestling with a strange error that only seemed to be affecting
my Linux laptop (OpenSUSE Tumbleweed), connecting to my Linux server
(OpenSUSE LEAP). Sessions seemed to start, but wouldn't connect. If I tried
to connect a 2nd time, it appeared to offer me an existing session, but
would not connect.

The client scrolled errors related to "unknown remote host 'localhost', and
"unable to resolve remote host 'localhost'.

Turned out I had removed the localhost entry from my /etc/hosts file.

/etc/hosts
127.0.0.1 localhost
-

Adding this back, fixed this problem.

I'm sending this email in case it is helpful to others. I couldn't seem to
find any documentation mentioning localhost.

Re: [X2Go-User] "The remote proxy closed the connection while negotiating"

2017-12-11 Thread Paul Borowicz
If you deleted the temp folders you can't reconnect to the session. I
usually do a 'pkill -u ' to cleanup anything running under that user,
and create a new session.

My understanding is there is no way to recreate those tmp files that define
your session.

[X2Go-User] Can't access X2go through router

2017-11-24 Thread Paul Borowicz
Bill, could this be your problem?

https://wiki.x2go.org/doku.php/doc:faq:start

Known Issues

Can't login to x2goserver with an ECDSA key

Currently, older versions of the ssh library used by X2Go called libssh are
unable to work with ECDSA keys. However you may use an RSA key - if you
need to - or go with the SSH default authenticating method using the remote
user's password.

SSH Login issue

If you already use OpenSSH to get a shell on your x2go server, you may get
this message when trying to connect with x2go:

The host key for
this server was not found but an othertype of key exists. An attacker
might change the default server key to confuse your client into thinking
the key does not exist
This is related to the ECDSA host key (related to the previous FAQ entry -
although there is a subtle difference between host and client keys.) To
solve this issue, you can disable ECDSA keys on your OpenSSH server
configuration, by commenting the following line in /etc/ssh/sshd_config
file:

#HostKey /etc/ssh/ssh_host_ecdsa_key
Then restart the SSH service. Now you should not get the error message
anymore.

[X2Go-User] problems connecting to x2go server

2017-11-24 Thread Paul Borowicz
I run a personal server with x2go and I've used it for years with no
problem. I can currently ssh fine, but x2go does not work.
I've tried removing .x2go from /tmp and /home/paul. I've recreated the user
database:
rm -f /var/lib/x2go/x2go_sessions
x2godbadmin --createdb

None of this has worked. Removing and reinstalling seem to work, but it's
now back to the same error.

I have turned up logging and everything seems to complete properly. When I
run the client with a --debug flag I get this, with the final 2 lines
repeating:
Info: Proxy running in client mode with pid '22689'.
Session: Starting session at 'Mon Nov 20 14:35:24 2017'.
Info: Using abstract X11 socket in kernel namespace for accessing
DISPLAY=:1.
Info: Connecting to remote host 'localhost:37964'.

x2go-DEBUG-../src/onmainwindow.cpp:12465> "Searching window with title:

Any insight would be appreciated.
