I was a gonna say, it's dead nuts to put up a wiki. I run 2 here myself.
One is the local amateur radio club's site, the other the local Linux
User group's site.

I'd think for a group like this, it'd be trivial to put up a wiki.

Shucks. Tigermaps, specifically, are heavily related to the problem.
I did look at the dbfawks files but didn't see anything which
remotely looked related (but then I don't know a lot about them yet).

Turn on the map grid (Map menu), then select one of the UTM or MGRS
coordinate systems (File->Configure menu). Pan right or left of
that UTM major grid line and see how it works.

OK. I do see an artifact when I do that. But that isn't nearly as
bothersome as the disappearing island ... :)

Hold everything! There's another Wiki in the works that is just for
us, so my previous notes about Wiki's are probably moot.

More info on this later. Stay tuned.

Change that first one to this:

To get into the Wiki pages. Here's the main SAR one:

[Xastir] Wiki

2006-09-18 Thread Curt, WE7U

Ok, we have an "ok" from both Bill Vodall and Scott Miller with
respect to using their respective Wiki's for Xastir docs/user info.
Thanks to both of them!

  (Bill, WA7NWP's Wiki)
   (Scott, N1VG's Wiki)

We're currently using Bill's Wiki for our Map Pointers page, plus
there's a SAR page there that I contribute to. We also have lots of
NWAPRS info on that Wiki.

Scott's Wiki has a lot of good APRS info on it already and I've been
contributing to several pages on it.

I'm having a hard time deciding which one to use. I couldn't really
say which one might have more space, which one would have better
uptime, etc.

What I'd like: A Wiki page we could link to from our main Xastir
page which would then link to Wiki pages for specific topics, like
perhaps:

  OS-specific Instructions:
MacOSX Install Notes
SuSE Install Notes
RedHat Install Notes
Fedora Install Notes
Windows Install Notes
...

  Library-specific Instructions:
Shapelib
ImageMagick
GDAL
...

  User Notes on:
How to use maps in Xastir
...

You get the idea.

Discussion?

You didn't mention having any maps turned on, or which maps, so I
wasn't sure which bug you were exercising.

Turn on the map grid (Map menu), then select one of the UTM or MGRS

that UTM major grid line and see how it works.

What maps are you using?

Exactly what problem are you referring to? I can think of a couple

You're at a UTM zone boundary, so terraserver will only give you
one side or the other as far as maps.

Again, you're at a UTM zone boundary, so if you have the map grid
displayed and you're in UTM or MGRS coordinate systems you'll see
map grid drawing bugs associated with crossing that line.

Which is it you're seeing?
