I have committed a change in polyglossia.sty; change lines 219--222 with
\def...@key[xpg@setup]{#1}{hyphenmins}[{2,3}]%
{\begingroup\edef\x{\endgroup
\noexpand\setlocalhyphenmins{#1}{\...@first##1}{\xpg@second##1}}\x}
The problem with the former definition was that \...@tmpfirst and
\...@tmpsecond were
not expanded at the right time. Now we get
\setlocalhyphenmins {english}{2}{3}
...
\setlocalhyphenmins {russian}{2}{2}
where, before, we got
\setlocalhyphenmins {english...@tmpfirst}{\@tmpsecond}
...
\setlocalhyphenmins {russian...@tmpfirst}{\@tmpsecond}
and the order depended on the declaration of the languages.

You should modify also \baselineskip; try
\baselineskip=36pt
and look at the result. Define
\newenvironment{tibetan}
{\par\linespread{3}\tibetanfont\noindent\ignorespaces}
{\par}
and use the new environment; \linespread{3} corresponds to \baselineskip=36pt
(with the default 10pt size): it sets a multiplication factor. Modify at will.

[XeTeX] irregular spaces between lines in Tibetan
Hello.
If I compile the attached file I get an irregular spacing of lines, as you can
see on the PDF: the space between the first and the second line is smaller than
between the other lines. But if I replace:
\newfontfamily\tibetanfont[Script=Tibetan,Scale=3]{Tibetan Machine Uni}
with:
\newfontfamily\tibetanfont[Script=Tibetan]{Tibetan Machine Uni}
the spacing becomes regular. Is there an option I should add to the
\tibetanfont command to get correct spaces with magnified glyphs?

Howdy,
Assuming you have MacTeX(TeX Live)-2010 installed have you updated everything,
not only fontspec? The fontspec package depends upon other packages being up to
date too. In this case I'd guess something in the expl3 package group needs
updating.
If you're using OS X 10.5 or later use TeX Live Utility to do a full update of
everything. otherwise you'll have to use tlmgr directly.

anymore. With the following:

I get this error message:

?

XeLaTeX > renders empty squares but LuaLaTeX renders nothing at all. +1 The lack of any visual indication that there is a missing glyph is a bit annoying, and in some cases one might totally miss it and it can be embarrassing at times. AFAIK, the .notdef glyph should be used in place of missing glyphs, but I've no idea why luatex does not use it. Andrea, how can I upgrade the Times New Roman on my XP computer, which doesn't have some of the characters that are in the Times New Roman on my Vista laptop? First, you'll have to get a license that grants you the use of that font, for the machine you want to use it on. Typically this means just finding a software bundle that comes with the font you want, but Times New Roman is only 30 euro, so it's probably cheapest to just buy a copy of it.
