[XFree86] Cannot export display from linux
Title: Message Hi Sir/Madam, I opened a telnet session from my machine to the linux machine. The problem is that I can't open kicker or any other KDE items from my desktop. I exported display to my machine. Even then It is not working. Previously I could able to launch kicker in my machine. If I login as a root then I could able to launch all the X windows in my sytem. The problem arises only when i login as a user. The following error message appears when I type 'konsole' command from my desktop. Can you please give me a solution? PAM authentication failed, cannot start X server. Perhaps you do not have console ownership? [XFree86] NVidia 5336 on mandrake 10.0
I installed NVIDIA-Linux-x86-1.0-5336-pkg1.run on my Toshiba 2800-C500 (GeForce 2 GO) Mandrake 10.0 system (which required a kernel rebuild) and got an odd result. A normal boot will hang. Details are in the the attached XFree86.0.old log file. But if I boot in 'failsafe' and then switch runlevel with 'TELINIT 5' everything works fine. The log for that is attached as XFree86.0.log. Re: [XFree86] Video Card problems
I have a similar problem with my Radeon 2500+ 64Mb card and XWindows configuration on my laptop(You probably mean XWindows conf.problems).Mine works fine until I try XWindows. Not tried release of Debian yet. Am working on the problem. Richard Emne: [XFree86] Video Card problems Dear Colleagues, I am having very much troubles with my Radeon 7500 64 Mb video card, Woody release of Debian does not recognize the screen. I am not able to find a driver or the way to let it work. I report here below all the messages of the XFree log. What I already tried was re-installing all Debian with different installation option. I tried to update the kernel to 2.4.18 but I couldn't. Could you give any help? I am desperately looking for somebody who had the same trouble in the newsgroup and similar, it's hard... it seems that the XFree configuration is only mine and nobody else's. The important point of the messages you may find it at the end of this log. Thank you very much for your any help. Alex __ This is a pre-release version of XFree86, and is not supported in any way.
