Please note that this is NOT a sound correction list. This is for the XFree86
program. There is a different driver, provided by Mandrake. You can join
their specific lists here:

[XFree86] ATI IGP 340M

2004-01-08 Thread Eric F Crist
Hello all,

I've got an ATI IGP 340M graphics processor using the vesa driver. I've got GL
working, but it's performance is poor. How do I make sure the system is
using all the available memory?

Second, how do I get the external monitor port working?

TIA

[XFree86] Video Memory?

2004-01-07 Thread Eric F Crist
Hello,

How do I find out how much video memory I have available for the system. I
can use OpenGL, but it really lacks performance. I only use this for
screensavers, but I still want max performance.

TIA

Sorry,

Someone sent me a mail and we got everything fixed. There's an option in the
Screens section for DefaultDepth that had not been set.

Thanks for the help, though.

My bad, here it is. BTW, the original setup was with an integrated Intel
i810e graphics card and the additional nVidia card. We've removed the nVidia
card and are just working on the intel card now.

[XFree86] 8-bit color in XFree86

2004-01-01 Thread Eric F Crist
Hello again all, and Happy New Year!

I'm trying to configure a system for my buddy who has an nVidia 440 MX video
card. For some reason XFree86 will only do 8-bit color. Anyone tell me how
to get it to do 24-bit color?

TIA
