I guess I'll just stay with Slackware if they are the only ones that base choices on the usefulness of software rather than personal opinions about the licenses. Exactly. It's just a bunch of text files, Python scripts, or whatever, so what's the problem in providing them, even if as as second choice ? None. BTW, Slackware also includes Java. Patrick got a license from SUN a long time ago. Am I the only one who remembers when distributions used to include Netscape Navigator? I bet they'd still if Mozilla didn't exist. -- http://www.pervalidus.net/contact.html ___ XFree86 mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://XFree86.Org/mailman/listinfo/xfree86

[XFree86] xf86config from 4.4.0 mentions SuperProbe
Just compiled 4.4.0 and ran xf86config. In the first page it displays, among others: SuperProbe may be able to help with this. SuperProbe has been removed in 4.2.0. -- http://www.pervalidus.net/contact.html ___ XFree86 mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://XFree86.Org/mailman/listinfo/xfree86
[XFree86] Re: xf86config from 4.4.0 mentions SuperProbe
It also mentions Now give the full device name that the mouse is connected to, for example /dev/tty00. I assume who wrote it meant /dev/ttyS0, what used to be a standard some years ago (serial mouse on the first serial port). That's all. [Xpert]#define XprtServer NO and libXp
Hi. Is there any reason to disable libXp if #define XprtServer NO is used ? [Newbie]Re: 4.1.0 build error
Hi, I'm new to this list and I have a problem. I've compiled 4.1.0 several times on multiple lfs installations and never had a problem. This last time I decided to compile in joystick support and recieved this error message during make install Does anyone have an explanation? Any help/pointers would be appreciated. No, but I got the same error with 4.0.1 last year: http://www.xfree86.org/pipermail/newbie/2000-October/001769.html I'd like to compile 4.2.0 with it. BTW, when will 4.2.0 be released ? Maybe the site needs some updates: The next full release will be 4.2.0, which is scheduled for mid-late November 2001.
