RE: [XFree86] XFree86 on Sony VAIO Laptop

2003-11-13 Thread Marcel Mourguiart
With installed NVIDIA-Linux-x86-1.0-4496-pkg2.run
as per README

The new nVidia-based video card works just fine, but Open Office
gives a Segmentation fault, and Xmms, same issue!

This works with the last Xfree86 CVS but there is no 3D support

2003-08-15 Thread Marcel Mourguiart Montt
I had a similar problem ... if your monitor turn black the is posible
that the problen is in your video driver ( for geforce4) maybe you
should try to download the driver and the kernel for nvidia video driver
and then try again

[XFree86] 3D support for S3 prosavage DDR driver ????

2003-09-11 Thread Marcel Mourguiart Montt
Hi, ( excuse my english pls)

I have a S3 prosavage DDR, with no 3D acceleration by now, my question
is:
In the new vertion of xfree (4.4 i think ) is going to be 3D support for
this card ??? Is going to be 3D support for 4.3 ???

I had see some fixed in the driver from cvs snapshot but i`m not sure if
thats mean that the new driver with 3D support is ready.

Thanks and regards

There is a driver provided by VIA for that card but just for Xfree4.2,
now Xfree people is working on it to updated to Xfree 4.4, but the work
is not ready there is no cvs driver yet.

[XFree86] Problems with TV out resolution nvidia

2003-11-24 Thread Marcel Mourguiart Montt
Please excuse my bad english

I can see fine the tv, but only with a resolution of 800x600 if i change
my configuration to 1280x1024, I see in the the tv a fragment ( 800x600
) of a 1280x1024 total size.

How i can have 1280x1024 in the monitor and 800x600 in the tv ???

Here is my xf86config

2003-12-27 Thread Marcel Mourguiart Montt
Antonio esta es una lista de Xfree86 que es el motor grafico de linux y
otros sistemas operativos, no tiene nada que ver con windows.

Pero te recomiendo que te des una vuelta por la pagina de VIA por que
ellos son los dueños de S3
