Hi, 

Can Anybody
help me please.



I am getting following error message
during installation of ORACLE9i on Redhat Linux 7.3.
XFree86 4.2.0 already installed on it and Display mode set to 0.

Hi,



I have
installed XFree86 4.2.0. And I have given Video driver =
vesa in XF86Config file.

[XFree86] Problem in starting Xserver (No Screens found)

Hi,



I am new to Linux O/S. I have installed Linux Version 7.3 on
my server. 

I have encountered problems while running startx .



Below mentioned steps I have followed.




 Installed
 XFree86 using binaries (Sh Xinstall.sh)
 
 Run the
 xf86config file and selected following options



 Mouse 
 PS/2
 Monitor
  31.5 - 35.1 ; Super VGA, [EMAIL PROTECTED] Hz
 Vertical Sync Range of
 Monitor  50-70
 Video
 Card  Intel 810
 ( I am not sure what video card my system has, as its a remote
 server)
 Video
 Memory  512K 




After finishing configuring xf86config , when I run the startx command the system displays following error.

[XFree86] [XFree86 4.2.0] Problem in starting Xserver

Thanks for the help,

As suggested by you, I have given driver = vesa in XF86Config file.

I am getting different error screen when I run startx and the cursor
also does not return back to command prompt ( Do I need to run any other
setup before running startx).

If you are not sure which card you ave then try giving driver = vesa
in your XF86Config file. Path should be /etc/X11/XF86Config I could not
understand remote server ??
