[XFree86] X windows problem

Hi,

I have loaded  Linux 2.4.18-11 in my system .After 
installing the linux it is not going to X windows . The system having onboard 
VGA(intel 845 ) ,but linux has taken i810 driver. 

Enclosed the Log files . kindly reply the solution 
.

You should create a X11 configuration file.

[XFree86] X windows problem

Hi,

I can log in to root in text editor, but can not log in to X windows.


When (as root) I typed : startx

I got: Server is already active for display 0.
Xlib : connection to :0.0 refused by server
Xlib: Invalid MIT-MAGIC-COOKIE-1 key giving up
xinit: unable to connect to X server
xinit: No such process (errno 3): Server error


Any ideas? I am VERY new at this.

  For starters you could upgrade to a recent version of XFree86
(current version is XFree86 4.3).  It looks like you have newer
model Intel graphics.  They probably don't work with a server
that old.
