Ok, I did that, but as you said it will not fix the problem. [XFree86] problem with Nvidia driver on Mandrake 9.2
I have a fresh install of Mandrake 9.2 PowerPack Kernel is 2.4.22-10mdk Video Card is PNY Geforce3 TI 200 Mandrake's nVidia driver did not seem to work, so I installed the new nVidia driver from nVidia (1.0-5336-pkg1), made the changes to the XF86Config-4 file as the documentation told me to, rebooted and the screen flashed a few times and dumped me to command-line. I am including the XF86Config-4 and log file. Please tell me what I am doing wrong, and how I can fix it. Any help will be much appreciated. # File generated by XFdrake. # ** # Refer to the XF86Config man page for details about the format of # this file. # ** Section Files # Multiple FontPath entries are allowed (they are concatenated together) # By default, Mandrake 6.0 and later now use a font server independent of # the X server to render fonts. You did not load the kernelmodule. As root try modprobe nvidia. If it works tell the System to load the module on startup by putting nvidia in /etc/modules. Then reboot. -- Hope this helps. LLAP Patrick ___ XFree86 mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://XFree86.Org/mailman/listinfo/xfree86
