[XFree86] XDarwin on Cinema works rootless crashes fullscreen help?

2003-07-13 Thread MegaBight
Hi,
I'm trying to get XDarwin to run under macos on a dual G4-500 with
a 20 Apple Cinema display. The resolution of the display is 1600x1024,
and XFree86 runs just fine in rootless mode, but it just crashes if I
run it full screen. If I set the display resolution in MacOS to
1024x768 it WILL work in full screen mode but not in other resolutions.
I'd post an XFree86.log, but it doesnt create one, and I can't seem to
force it to (xdarwin doesnt take a -logfile argument). Has anyone else
seen this? Any pointers or help are greatly apreciated.

I'm running XFree86 4.3.0 on MacOS 10.2.6 the error messages and MacOSX
crash log are attached below.

When I run it full screen via startx it crashes and I get:

[XFree86] xDarwin

2003-06-16 Thread greg
I forget to mention last time: I'm running Mac os 10.2.6 on a 800 mghz,
1 gig RAM Titanium, for which I'm trying to get xfree86 to run in a
seperate environment. Apple's x11 is also installed.
-
I've tried to install xfree86 by Every method I can find on the web
(resexcellence.com, fink.sourceforge.net, Fink Users Guide --and other
related Fink documentation).

Installed xfree manually, via Fink Commander, and via the command line.
I've removed Everything and started over from scratch Three times now.
And no matter if I double-click on the X, or try launching from the
command line, I get the Same short list of replies Every time.

The last timed X worked was when I installed it manually from
osxgnu.org. Then I installed Fink Commander and my journey into Hell
began.

Please Dear Ghod, somebody help me!
