Thanks. Is it possible for us to catch this at link time
instead of waiting for untraceable gpfs?

I don't know, sorry.

Was there a pcode version change, and if not shouldn't there be?

No, as far as I know. Was there an internal structure change.

I understand. But if we're going to release a build that causes
unidentifiable crashing, shouldn't we consider putting something in the
build to identify it?
Wouldn't incrementing the PCode version accomplish this, even if it was an
item structure change instead of pcode change that causes the crash?

If not, shouldn't we consider something similar to avoid an onslaught of
support problems and questions?

I fully agree with PCode version. The structure change is quite dangerous
if we do not do it.

But than all 3rd party LIB's need to be updated again. I know from
previous PCode upgrades that we had tons of user questions/support.

Very stable! :-)

One important status now compared to Harbour :-):

xHarbour gently free VIRTUAL MEMORY upon application exit while
Harbour, at the present moment, does not.

(As usual, I use MEMPROOF with BCC build to make a test.)

Congrats for the xHarbour crews!

Patrick:

That GPF was caused by a FWH .prg file that wasn't in our
own modified collection of FWH code (listbox.prg). When
a true RTE happen, the listbox object created by the FWH
error dialog bombed when an AEval occured inside
TListbox():Default().

As soon as I pulled this prg from FWH into our pool of
modified FWH files the problem went away and FWH
error dialog now showed correctly as expected and no
more GPF.

As Brian mentioned, it would be extremely useful if a similar
error as the one we do with a PCode change could be added
to avoid hours of chasing this kind of error.

We do have Harb2Lib (made many years ago by Jorge
Mason) which I've been using from time to time when a
full FWH prg compile is needed so we're covered in that
aspect.

Honestly I haven't made deep tests. I think (but it's only a sensation) that
there is about 20% speed boost in simple tests but it's hardly visible in
