[xmail] smtp authorization
How should I enable smtp authorization for all domains and users? Can you please tell me in a simple way? I tried to read the readme file, but because I'm so new to administer a mail server could not understand what to change. There is an smtpconfig variable in server.tab but it is already set to "mail-auth". But it is not working because I receive thousands of bouncing mail every day , sent from the server and is irrelevant to me. An example of mails I receive is this: From: nevarts.com PostMaster [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Saturday, January 25, 2003 2:28 AM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Error sending message [1042521464542.648.nevartsnet] from [nevarts.com] [<00>] XMail bounce: Rcpt=[[EMAIL PROTECTED]];Error=[552 Error: content rejected] [<01>] Error sending message [1042521464542.648.nevartsnet] from [nevarts.com]. Yes, it would be round robbin DNS where one of the four servers is choosen, they are probably just relaying mail to the real servers. -Mensaje original- De: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]]En nombre de Louis Solomon [SteelBytes] Enviado el: Monday, February 03, 2003 7:32 PM Para: XMail mailing list Asunto: [xmail] a Q on MX records is it valid to have the same prioriy value for multiple MX records for a single domain ? [xmail] Allow for 'local' domains only
Hi group, Our cable provider is finally able to allow to have a fixed IP. So as soon as an IP is provided I'm planning to have our xmail server connected to the real thing in stead of using POP fetches. Question: What should specifically be configured to get xmail relay safe? *Accept only inbound mail for local domains? -> how? *Enable Auth on smtp? -> won't this give problems when mail is dropped MTA MTA? All suggestions welcome.
