[xmail] 417 Temporary delivery error
XMail Group, I am getting the following error displayed in the command window while running XMail in debug mode (xmail --debug). XMail is running on Win2k and communicates with an application acting as an SMTP client. The from and to addresses are set by the application. None of the tab files have been touched (yet) in the XMail configuration. This has worked before. I looked in the SMTP spec (RFC2821) but did not see this error code. Any ideas why this error is happening? Paul ErrCode = -162 ErrString = End of socket stream data SMAIL SMTP-Send MX = mail.caracal-tech.com. [xmail] Re: SV: Re: SV: Re: BCware NoSPAM SMTP Proxy Daemon
You ll have to change your xmail startup switch (command switch) to = have xmail listen to port 8025 (or 225 or other). But IMO i don't like smtp-proxy to be listening to port 25, because = standard mail clients will be dropping their messages in the spam filter. It's the mail-server's task to decide to check for spam or not. -Oorspronkelijk bericht- Van: Niklas Wikman [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]]=20 Verzonden: donderdag 13 februari 2003 14:07 Aan: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Onderwerp: [xmail] SV: Re: SV: Re: BCware NoSPAM SMTP Proxy Daemon =20 =20 I think i'll try the BCware application, it looks realy easy=20 to configure. [xmail] still a problem with psync
Hello Davide Maybe its better to show up a problem with an example. I still have two messages in an external mailbox that look correctly to me but psync won't process them. I'm controlling a domain named home.haeschmi.ch on my server. I get a huge number of mail for three domains (arvy.ch, 4l-gmbh.ch and haeschmi.ch) thru one single maildrop. In general, its working just fine. I can send mail to any user of these domains. If the user exist, there's no problem and if it doesn't exist I get the mail in my psyncerrors account. I must point it out: generally it's working correctly. I have a FetchHdrTags+X-RCPT-TO,+X-Deliver-To,To,Cc in my server.tab. A number of mailing lists send their mail just by setting +X-RCPT-TO to the effective address and with To: holding the lists name. I've just sent a mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED] all sucessfully, and I successfully reproduced the problem by running a manual smtp session and sending the above message text. Now I have three messages stuck un my mail drop I don't see any reason why xmail shouldn't process these messages. - To unsubscribe from this list: send the line unsubscribe xmail in the body of a message to [EMAIL PROTECTED] For general help: send the line help in the body of a message to [EMAIL PROTECTED]
