OK.
I have understood.
Now, is there a way to do that I want to do?
Does FILTERS.IN.TAB work only on the local address or on every message =
sent to XMail server?

 Anyone know what causes it?

It is not an XMail message. Likely a remote SMTP server does check the
sender address and it fails according to its rules.

I've put together similar networks, but just for clarifications sake, what
exactly are you trying to accomplish?

Do you want to:
1) Use Xmail as a gateway for your exchange server?
2) Use your exchange server as a gateway for Xmail?
3) Have your exchange server forward certain email addresses to your xmail
server and vice versa?

[xmail] defunct Linux SendMail platform

2003-06-17 Thread Alex Young

Hi,
does anyone know how I can tell SendMail on a Linux platform to
route all mail to the XMail box? Something like the DefaultSMTPGateway
feature in Xmail is what I thought it might use but I couldn't find
anything out about it.

Thanks,
Alex

1) No
2) Yes and the running configuration works
3) Yes. My exchange server forward certain email addresses.
I wish: when xmail receive some address it have to manage them localy; =
the others it have to send to relay server.
I think that my problem is similar to A Maududi problem (see previous =

[xmail] Forwarding Delivered E-Mail?

2003-06-17 Thread Toby Reiter

To all,
Not sure if this has been covered recently (and for some reason I
can't get the newsgroup on Saltstorm to work for me).

If email has already been delivered to a user's mailbox, is there a
way (and how would this be done) to forward that email on to an
outside account? Basically, email was supposed to be forwarded for
one of our accounts but the redirect command was mistyped, and so it
ended up in the user's box. I assume there must be some way I can
get this email forwarded. I don't mind if I have to do it piece by
piece, but I'd prefer if I didn't have to do it through a mail user
agent, however.

Thanks in advance for any help,
Toby

You can define an intra-domain alias in two ways :

 domain alias account

 or

 domain alias [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Do all versions of Xmail support the latter method?

I just finished getting spamassassin up and running on my Windows 2000

thought I would check to see if there is anyone out there working on it

Is there anyone?
