[xmail] Is this a problem, and if so where is it from

2007-01-17 Thread Phillip R. Shaw

I am getting emails through the xmail list which Symantec's SMS SMTP
gateway are flagging as un-scannable. I saw this a year ago and just
turned off the warning but this time I think I found a pattern.

Some of the emails I receive through this list seem to have 2
Content-Transfer-Encoding tags in them. A lot of the time one will say
7bit and one will say 8bit.

2 examples are the messages just sent through from Bill Healy and from
Brian. But the message from waasssuup only had Content-Transfer-Encoding
tag in them.

Is this legit? I could see a scanner not knowing which encoding to use
and complaining about it. I did a quick search on google and did see one
patch to Ecartis that looked like it would add a second tag if one
already existed, but not sure it that is the problem or not.

I am showing the following headers in the message from Brian:

Can anyone else verify that this is happening? And, if it is could it be
a problem or should I keep looking for something else.

Thanks

Phillip

Is there a way to do that in xmail?

I have logging in the filter perl script itself, and it looks as though
the script is never called.

I replied with some text to *Forwarding High Priority emails* and the

[xmail] little help from Rob ?

2007-01-17 Thread waassssuu pppp
I have got myself all confused now.

I decided that what I should do is just make the server check the emails to
see if they are HIGH PRIORITY and if they are then send it to the Blackberry
device.

I can inform users that if they want a offic user to receive the email on
said users blackberry then send the email HIGH PRI.

No need to keep a list of people now.

I am confused on how to make it work, I am missing one thing somewhere.

Here is the batch file to use

@echo off
setlocal
grep -Pqi "^X-Priority:\s*1\s" *.server1
set XPriHigh=%ERRORLEVEL%

grep -Pqi "^X-MSMail-Priority:\s*High" *.server1
set XMSPriHigh=%ERRORLEVEL%

grep -Pqi "^Importance:\s*High" *.server1
set ImportHigh=%ERRORLEVEL%

if "%XPriHigh%"=="0" goto Found
if "%XMSPriHigh%"=="0" goto Found
if "%ImportHigh%"=="0" goto Found

goto EOF

:Found
NOT SURE WHAT TO PUT HERE, I have had things here and nothing worked.
Nothing was right im sure.

:EOF

My Tab looks like this.
"mailbox"
"external"[tab]"0"[tab]"20"[tab]"cmd /c
d:\xmail\xmail_filters\test.cmd"[tab]"@@FILE"
"redirect"[tab]" [EMAIL PROTECTED]" [newline]

It should only redirect if the message is a high pri message. I chose @@file
cause I use xmail version 1.21 on windows 2000 server and I felt like it had
to look at the file in order to process.

I am unsure if I am doing this correct and if I am, what to put in the batch
file after it reads the file.

Currently, if I send an email to my test user account it redirects to the
yahoo account no matter what its priority, so I do not have something right
in the batch file I think, cause it just proceeding.

[xmail] Server too busy, retry later (SMTP thread count).

2007-01-17 Thread Shawn Anderson

Davide,

For the last two releases of XMail I have noticed a rather alarming increase
in the following error in my event log (I am running Windows 2003)

"Server too busy, retry later (SMTP thread count)."

I have tried changing the thread count, but the message still continues.
Any thoughts on what to look for? Keep in mind, no configuration changes
have been made to make mailserver in over a year -- with the exception of
upgrading from 1.22 to 1.24.

Shawn

Are you a transplant? I've never met a German that likes ice cold beer. If it
got below 40F, my grandmother would start swearing! In fact, I've never seen a
German put beer in a refrigerator, especially if it's bad US beer. ;-)

BTW: Go to Niebuell. Weirdest weather I've ever been in. -11C ~ 7:00, -3C &

in a six week period Jan - Mar. I have to say that I only wore long sleeve
shirts because other people thought I was nuts. I was really warm then! When I
mentioned Wisconsin, I just got an Ach Ja!. ;-)

[xmail] Re: Makes a snowball and tosses it at Davide

2007-01-17 Thread Rob Arends

Wow, would you like some of the warmth here??
I'd really like some of the cold - but not all of it.

Yesterday it was 43C with overnight 25C
Today was 37C.

This is unusual in this neck of the woods (Coastal, South Eastern Australia
- Melbourne to be precise)
Usually over summer (Dec to March) we get 25C up to 35C but the 30's are
only for a day or two then cools for a few days.
Also we are in the 7th year consecutive year of drought, where the farmers
are the first to feel it, but now the City's reservoirs are very low and we
are all on water restrictions. Please let it rain.

Last year (Nov 2006) we got snow at sea level, on the beach. This I've
never heard of in Australia.

We saw the weather in the US a few weeks ago was sunny when it should have
been cold, and now you have very cold.
It seems the worlds weather is all over the place.

Rob :-)
