2008-11-10 Thread Rosario Pingaro
i cleared the dbm file this morning,
and get again the private ip into the dbm file.

Almost all of them are email sent using Morzilla Thunderbird mail lcient.

this is a tipcial dbm record:
192.168.0.2,[EMAIL PROTECTED],[EMAIL
PROTECTED];rtime=4906dd0b,mtime=4906eaaa,mcnt=1,acnt=7\x00

and the same client leav this smtp log into the server:
"smtp.convergenze.it"   "smtp.convergenze.it"   "89.189.53.214" "2008-11-10

"[EMAIL PROTECTED]""SAE6BF4"   "RCPT=OK"   ""  "0"
""
"smtp.convergenze.it"   "smtp.convergenze.it"   "89.189.53.214" "2008-11-10

"[EMAIL PROTECTED]""SAE6BF4"   "RECV=OK"   ""  "4882"

so it is recgnized as public ip, into the smtp log.

I am more and more confident that could be a problem into the glst and
morzilla client.

I was running in the dark on this, so I'm not sure I didn't cause other =

Hi! Davide!
I think that is not what I'm looking for.
I need to authenticate internal clients against an LDAP server for POP3 and
SMTP protocols.
He succeeded in POP3 authenticate against LDAP, Active Directory, NT4 Domain
and Firebird Database, but I do not see how you do in SMTP.
I'm using Linux on XMail 1.25 (Slack, Ubuntu, Debian and Centos).

Thanks in advance!!

Cesar.

Sorry I don't have a full list but some of those seen here are:

RCPT=ERELAY = rejection of a relay attempt
RCPT=EAVAIL = rejection for an unknown user
RCPT=EERS = rejection after too many failed attempts
AUTH=EFAIL:CRAM-MD5 = authenticated login failure

RCPT=EFILTER= blocked by filter

Accepted emails here are
RCPT=OK
  followed by
RECV=OK

I usually check with after making
any changes. There was also a loopback site that I used in distant
past (but lost details of) which allowed sending email back to
originating ip but as from a remote ip.

[xmail] List Server Changed. Mailman IN, Ecartis OUT

2008-11-10 Thread Davide Libenzi
I had to change the list server since Ecartis has so many holes it's not
even funny, and noone seems to maintain it anymore.
Since this is the first time I setup Mailman, if some Mailman expert would
mind to check out the setup, it'd be great. I wouldn't want to have left
some door open, lost in the maze of configuration options :)

XMail does not *connect* to GLST, it just calls it and pass it the very
same IP you see in the GLST DB dump.
So whatever IP you see in the GLST DB dump, it's the one XMail sees on the
SMTP level.

Ok, you need to use this then:

So, after you cleaned the glst.dbm and tried to send emails, you still see
192.168.x.x?
