[xmail] Re: Any good WebMail solutions?

2005-03-04 Thread Jason J. Ellingson
XMail-WAI (What I use) actually comes with an extra folder called SPAMBOX
that I dump spam into (my xmail spam filter). With a little extra coding on
your part, you could easily add web folders that users could
add/move/create/delete at will.

Oh... and my vote for good WebMail is XMail-WAI... for 3 reasons:

1) No extra database or anything (it works with the mail files directly)
2) Password recovery built in for users
3) postmaster accounts can control respective domain accounts

Only shortcoming (by design apparently) is it doesn't support HTML emails.
Just plain-text.

Since this subject has come up again, and I'm also looking for a
solution, I have one question for all who are suggesting :-)

Is there a webmail solution out there that can handle creating mail
folders, but doesn't require IMAP for that feature? I don't care if it
has a database requirement to implement the feature. I just don't want
to deal with setting up IMAP.

Before that, I used Null Webmail. Works pretty good but is in C and has

Perlwebmail seems to have great features.
Tried to install it and finally gave up after 1 hour strugle. Got
crazy trying to solve dependencies. Could not install Curses-1.06 with

UebiMiau installs and runs in less than 5 minutes... Not as feature
rich but straigtforward as far as intallation in concerned.

If anybody manages to install perlwebmail on Linux/Perl 5.8, I'd be
gratefull about any advice. Thanks.

Hi,

LS Hi, i'm currently using Uebimiau webmail (at sourceforge.net), a pop3
LS webmail in php, with html templates, very functional, with themes,
languages
LS and all that stuff, try it ;-)

Uebimiau is very nice indeed but I have problems with
sending messages with attachments. Am I the only one ?
