Hello,
I'm ok to test but I want to know if it is still necessary as it will certainy
take me time and don't want to make lose yours.
I'm using radeon last radeon driver ( xorg-edgers ppa ubuntu :
1:6.13.99+git20100907.b90cb61c-0ubuntu0sarvatt).
Thanks.

//
Since 2.6.35, mesa with kms enable works only with vblank_mode=0; do you think
it need to open a bug report ? If you do I will.

[Bug 30218] New: [Evergreen KMS] HDMI port output only works with new_pll=0

Summary: [Evergreen KMS] HDMI port output only works with
new_pll=0
   Product: xorg
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS/Version: Linux (All)
Status: NEW
  Severity: major
  Priority: medium
 Component: Driver/Radeon
AssignedTo: xorg-driver-ati@lists.x.org
ReportedBy: ser...@hosca.com

I have an HP Envy 15 with mobility 5830. Laptop panel works fine, however, the
hdmi port connected to a dell 20" lcd produced garbled screen. I tried adding
radeon.new_pll=0 on grub and it fixed the problem.

Using the git evergreen_accel branch xorg ati driver with 2.6.36-rc4 with
airlied's drm-radeon-testing. Xorg version from ubuntu xorg-edgers ppa
1.9.0+git20100902+server-1.9-branch.79ee78de-0ubuntu0sarvatt. Mesa version from
ppa 7.9.0+git20100915.e0b6df4f-0ubuntu0sarvatt.

Do any other values for that option work? The valid values are 1 / 2 / 4 if
your setup is AGPv2 or 4 / 8 if it's AGPv3.

Xorg.0.log

I am using the KDE desktop without compositing on a Samsung P35 which has a
radeon mobilty 9600 card. Even in this case the desktop sometimes simply
freezes. No switch to a virtual terminal or killing of the xserver is possible.

I did not find anything in /var/log/messages or /var/log/Xorg.0.log.old after a
freeze.

Workaround is to boot with radeon.agpmode=-1 on the kernel command line. Then
even Desktop effects did not cause a crash so far, although they are very slow.

The bug can often but not always be triggered by opening a firefox session with
many opened tabs.

I am using openSUSE packages

Kernel: 2.6.36-rc3-10-default
xorg-x11-server-7.5_1.9.0-62.14.i586
Mesa-7.8.2-35.1.i586
