You're using the fglrx / Catalyst drivers, but this bug report is about the
open source radeon drivers.

Dear Maintainer,

on a Intel Core i7 4770 system with a Radeon R7 240 graphics card,

That’s a Radeon R7 250 – sorry.

kaffeine does not work properly when the displays are connected to the
radeon. In this case kaffeine does not show video.

If the displays are connected to the Intel HD onboard-graphics
kaffeine works fine and shows video.

Any terminal output from kaffeine would be interesting as well.

Looks like kaffeine tries to use VDPAU with the Radeon GPU, but fails.
Can you clarify with someone knowledgeable about kaffeine whether it
falls back to XVideo in that case, or how you can explicitly choose XVideo?

What does

xdpyinfo -queryExtensions|grep 'opcode: 151'

say?

Hi there,

I am experiencing the same issues - but I am on x86_64

AMD Radeon HD7500m/HD8500m

When booting up, after splash screen I hear the login prompt but do not see the
login screen.

I am able to see the screen if I close the lid, let it go to sleep then wake it
up.

I had many of the same errors, but following some of these instructions helped
clear those errors up. Now I am almost error free, but still experiencing the
same issue.

Hope this helps
