RE: Radeon Desktop Video Cards

2008-07-31 Thread Deepak Bhatia

Hi Dave,

I am trying to run the ATI Radeon 7000 64 MB PCI Card.

The attached xorg.conf.new file is created using "Xorg -configure".

I replace the existing xorg.conf file with the system generated
xorg.conf.new file. Then I run the X-Server again but the system hangs.

Then I did the changes in the device and screen section using the link
http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=107049

Section "Device"
Identifier "ATI Technologies, Inc. Radeon 7000 VE (RV100
QY) 1"
Driver "radeon"
BusID "AGP:1:0:0"
EndSection

Section "Screen"
Identifier "screen1"
Device "ATI Technologies, Inc. Radeon 7000 VE (RV100
QY) 1"
Monitor "monitor1"
DefaultDepth24
SubSection "Display"
Viewport 0 0
Depth 24
Modes "1280x1024" "1024x768" "832x624"
"800x600" "720x400" "640x480"
EndSubSection
EndSection

But I get the following error in Xlog file as "ATI Technologies, Inc.
Radeon 7000 VE (RV100 QY) 1" driver is not valid for the card attached.

Best Regards

Deepak Bhatia

Machine doesn't boot at all? or X doesn't start.

You may need to set the BIOS to use the PCI graphics instead of the
onboard..

Sounds like your motherboard bios doesn't correctly route VGA. See if
you can disable the integrated graphics completely.

Radeon Desktop Video Cards

2008-07-29 Thread Deepak Bhatia

Hello,

We have got a Radeon 7000 64 MB PCI card. When we install the driver for
the same on the desktop (Windows XP) and reboot the machine to take
Video Card from PCI slot (PC BIOS Setting), the Radeon 7000 64 MB PCI
card doesn't give any video output.

When we make the PC boot with on board VGA card and Radeon 7000 card as
the secondary card on the PCI Slot. When we select the Radeon Card, the
system (Windows XP) hangs.

Kindly let us know if somebody has faced this issue.

Regards

Deepak Bhatia
