And there's no method to tweak the output voltage? Bummer.

[Xpert]xgamma not working with second head of MGA G400 AGP

2002-02-20 Thread Don Armstrong

I have a 3 (well, trying to make it 4 if I can get the second voodoo
to soft boot) head system, and for some odd reason, xgamma won't
change the gamma of the second MGA head, while it will change the
gamma of the first head no problem.

dual:~$ xgamma -s 0
-> Red  1.237, Green  1.239, Blue  1.374
dual:~$ xgamma -s 1
-> Red  1.300, Green  1.300, Blue  1.300
dual:~$ xgamma -s 2
-> Red  3.000, Green  3.000, Blue  3.000
dual:~$ xgamma -s 2 -rg 5 -bg 5 -gg 5
-> Red  3.000, Green  3.000, Blue  3.000
<- Red  5.000, Green  5.000, Blue  5.000

At this point, I should be staring at a totally washed out 3rd head,
but nothing happens.

Ideas?

[Xpert]int10 not softbooting second Voodoo 3 3000 PCI

2002-01-31 Thread Don Armstrong

I picked up a second Voodoo3 card today (ontop of my other PCI one and
an AGP Matrox G400 DH), and was about ready to set it up to work in
XFree86-4.1.0 (havent installed 4.2 yet, will test it there as well in
a while).

Unfortunatly, it seems that int10 was unable to softboot the second
voodoo3 (at PCI:0:19:0). It would boot the first just fine (at
PCI:0:18:0), even when the first wasn't setup by the bios (my original
setting). The second would load perfectly when it was the only PCI
video card (both setup/not setup by the bios).

XFree86 would still continue to load and allocate memory and screen
realestate to the non-booted video card (and I presume draw to it as
well, but I'm not quite certain of that.) even though the card wasn't
booted, and no signal was being shoved out of it.

I suspect that this is just a bug in the int10 module that hasn't been
discovered yet because few people are working with 4 heads... but I
could be mistaken. (Like the boot signal is being sent to the wrong card
as it tries to boot the second card... although it does correctly
report a boot failure...)

What should I do now? (Has this problem been adressed in 4.2.0 or cvs?)
