[Xpert]cyberbladeXPAi1: almost perfect

2002-10-08 Thread Matt Behrens

With a cyberbladeXPAi1 (on a Tosh Satellite 1805-S254) and alanh's
driver 1.0.27 (on 4.2.1), everything seems to work really well. Xv is
perfect. I cannot say how happy this makes me. :-)

I do seem to have a pixel shift four pixels to the right. Ideas?

[Xpert]SPARC Solaris: sunffb invisible, PGX32 colors messed up?

2002-10-06 Thread Matt Behrens

I've recently been trying to get 4.2.99.1 up and running on my Ultra 10.
I normally have a 3-head config with two PGX32s and a Creator3D. My
two problems (yes I know this is unsupported):

1. The Creator3D never shows up in the configuration. I tried adding a
device section for it per ML archives:

Section "Device"
Identifier "Card3"
Driver "sunffb"
EndSection

but the device is simply loaded and unloaded without ever being
attached. Not sure what BusID I should use, if any, to get this thing
working.

2. The PGX32s seem to have some kind of colormap corruption; gray bars
turn yellow. I tried them both inside and outside of a layout with the
Ultra 10's onboard Mach64, with the same results. (Incidentally, the
Mach64 works great, but has really piddly video RAM.)

Any ideas would be very much appreciated. I really hate Solaris' Xsun...

I'm attaching XF86Config and XFree86.0.log from my 2x PGX32 + onboard
Mach64 configuration.

[Xpert]sunffb on Solaris

2002-08-01 Thread Matt Behrens

Anyone know how to get the sunffb driver working on Solaris (9 in my
case)? My card is UPA, in an Ultra 10. On 4.2.99.1, XFree86 -configure
finds all my PCI cards (I have two PGX32 cards and the onboard video)
but never finds sunffb. Adding a device section for sunffb results in
nothing. I installed the aperture driver; that was needed for PCI to
work anyway.

[Xpert]horizontal rain on CyberBladeXP/DSTN/Ai1, latest CVS 'trident' driver

2002-05-18 Thread Matt Behrens

I've been getting horizontal rain on my CyberBladeXP/DSTN/Ai1 ever
since the unaccelerated driver first worked. It is very noticeable
when using Xv (the color key will rain all around the window), and
also much more noticeable when accelerated things are happening
such as an xterm updating very rapidly. It's not quite so noticeable
when running unaccelerated. It's also much more visible on a CRT
than on the LCD.

Any suggestions? I've got a Satellite 1805-S254. I'm currently
using the CVS driver copied into and compiled inside a 4.2.0 source
tree, but this happens even with a complete CVS build.
