Ok I'll take to mind in future. Sorry for this.

Why? I've only asked if someone knows if the video driver of my card
is planned. Even if the answer to my quest would be "it's not known" i
do not think it's germane.

I know but the trio 64v+ is not supported.

I'm in italy. It's very difficult for me to send the card to someone there!
But if there is some thing i can do , just ask ; i want to
cooperate/help in
the ways i can.

I do not agree. Is this list is for discussing about xfree ?

[Xpert]S3 Trio 64V+ support

2002-10-07 Thread Ritchard Nash

Hi ,
I'd like to know if in XF4.3 is planned the support for S3Trio64V+ (
chip 764/765 ).
Unfortunately i have some trio card and i'd like to know if i can
destroy them or i can
hope to use them on light client in my lan in the future. I think that
vesa solution is too bad.

Cheers,
Ritchard Nash

Okey , there is my xfree log attached to this message. I don't think
this is a false Trio64V+
as i can read on the card the 765 chip code. The strange thing is that
the xfree log saw it
as Trio32/64. I've tried the s3 drivers with xfree 4.1 and i had no
success.
To speak true i had two(2) trio64v+ cards. With the first one i tried
the s3 drivers in xf4.1
with no success and since then it doesn't work properly in vesa mode
The screen
go blank every time the CPU get busy ( It's a very strange behaviour ).
With this second one i do not made any proof with s3 drivers ( until i
know that 764/765 are supported) as i'm afraid to loose the
possibility of use it with vesa drivers.
Ah to get things more strange is that the "broken" trio works perfectly
under windows9x .
It's only under vesa&xfree that it cause problems! Pheraps tha card has
reported a bios damage and win9x do not use the card bios ( programming
the graphics chip directly.. ) ?

Cheers ,
Ritchard

P.S.
I've sent 1day ago the same message with the log not zipped and that
message was blocked waiting
for moderator. Now that message can be deleted as i send now the same
message within 40kb limit.

[Xpert]S3 Trio64V+ ( 764/765 ) and Matrox G200 AGP 2X

2002-09-18 Thread Ritchard Nash

Hi all ,
I configured xfree 4.2 with an S3 Trio64V+ and a Matrox G200 AGP 2x.
i've 2 problems in order of importance:
1)If i set in the bios the matrox card as the primary video vard ( init
AGP first )
then i can use both cards and all go fine.If i set the s3 as the primary
card ( init PCI first )
then when i run Xfree with the same
configuration (still mga driver and vesa driver ) the matrox screen (!!)
is garbage.
In each case the s3 ( vesa driver ) is fine while the matrox works only
if is set as
first display. I'd like to know if this is a bug ( a known one or
unknown ) and if there is something
that i can do. I tried to disable DRI , AGP 2x and the various extension
but the result
is always the same.
2) I need the s3 trio v64+ drivers!! Oh well , i'dlike to know if this
card will be supported
in XF4.3 or i can trow it out of the window! I'm using it with vesa
driver and the 60Hz
refresh is getting me blind

Cheers ,
Ritchard Najsh
