[Xpert]joystick

[Xpert]dri
hello there, i was wondering if somebody could please set me straight on the whole dri thing... i am currently recompiling my entire system (LFS... sometimes rpms seem like a good idea!) and i have reached the (almost) final stage... XFree86. I have a voodoo3000 card which i see is supported by the dri system and i think it is about time i got the accelerated graphics working! My question is this... do i need to get the latest dri source from cvs, or does the latest XFree86-4.2.1 have enough in it that i can compile dri support without any additional adons? (well, besides libglide3) and if so, what must i specify in my host.def? i noticed in my (partial) compile of XFree86 today that i had a few dri_xxx.o files in the lib/modules folder. Are these what i think they are? ie. are these the accelerated graphics modules for the associated cards? i quess what i am tryign to ask is this... is dri in the stable XFree86 release now? i hope i have made sense... probably haven't thanks in advance! Re: [Xpert]joystick woes
this should not be being compiled in the make install file!!! It was already compiled during make World and already failed then. make World doesn't abort on errors by default, it's a good idea to redirect its output into a file and check it for errors, or just run make afterwards, ... thanks! i didnt know that, i did pipe the output to a file, but it was too big to check for errors ;) does anyone have a fix for this file to compile correctly then? im not in any hurry as i dont have a joystick on THIS machine... and will the fix be in the next release? cheers again, Sam -- A lifetime isn't nearly long enough to figure out what it's all about. ___ Xpert mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://XFree86.Org/mailman/listinfo/xpert
[Xpert]library functions docs in ps
hello, sorry for bothering you all, this is a very simple question which is strangely not answered on the web site... (well i couldnt find it) i noticed the online documentation for Xfree86, but can i get this in other formats, ps (or pdf) would be best... i would like a copy of the library functions on my computer where i can easily browse them. does anyone have a location where i can download the docs in ps? i have the source-doc tarball, but it seems i need to create my own docs from this, i think maybe i dont have the prerequisits to create the docs this way. thanks in advance for any help, Sam _ Chat with friends online, try MSN Messenger: http://messenger.msn.com ___ Xpert mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://XFree86.Org/mailman/listinfo/xpert
