That's great to hear.  Were you having the the same problem I was, or 
something else?

Also, still wondering if it's possible to disable the Render extension 
for now.

Their use of Render is pretty broken; I've recently committed a fix that
makes it work fine (at least on my box, as usual).

[Xpert]Disabling Build-In Extensions

Hi,

I'm trying to run OpenOffice 641, but I've found that it crashes when run 
locally.  In particular, when selecting any menu other than Help or 
Window, it immediately dies.  If run remotely, this never happens.

Since I've heard that OO uses the Render extension if available, and my 
remote X server doesn't have Render, I'd like to try disabling Render on 
my local machine.

I'm using RedHat 7.2, which uses XFree86 4.1, with the Render extension 
built-in.  Is there a way to disable this extension?
